26er recommendations available in UK
Hey. I’m looking to get my first proper hardtail, but I’m having difficulty finding something suitable due to my height. I’m ~5ft tall (150cm) and definitely not growing (21M). I’m a newbie to MTBs but well-versed in commuting at least!
My current bike is a Frog 73 hybrid (26in wheels, 16in frame), but I have the seat pretty much slammed and I feel like that’s the issue I’d have with a 27.5in wheel bike. A lot of the 27.5in bikes seem to have quite a big crank length for the XS sizes as well (have looked at trek marlin and Specialized rockhopper).
Criteria is as follows: ~£500 budget, suitable for A to B commuting (~50 miles/wk), light trails, pump track, seat not slammed down, <15kg.
I’m fine with getting a kids bike, as long as isn’t obviously a kids bike like the frog is. Just seem to be at the very very top of the height range for them.
