Astrum.ph Is NOT the Same as Yiheng Alibaba

Astrum.ph is not the same as the actual Yiheng Alibaba paddles. You can literally verify this yourself by asking Dongguan Yiheng directly on Alibaba. I own both.

The real Yihengs are much closer to the original in terms of weight, balance, build quality, and feel. Totoo talaga yung “80% of the performance for 20% of the price” with the actual Yiheng Alibaba versions.

My Astrum.ph J6CR is significantly lighter than the original. Immediately obvious pag hawak mo pa lang. The build quality and overall feel are different too, so it’s clearly not an exact rebrand or 1:1 source. It still plays okay, but people should stop claiming it’s literally the same paddle from the same factory because based on actual side-by-side ownership, it isn’t.

A lot of these local sellers are probably sourcing from different OEMs or wholesalers in China, not necessarily directly from Dongguan Yiheng itself. That’s why QC, weight, foam density, and feel can vary a lot.

Thoughts on the new Yiheng Gen X Pro?

Saw this new Yiheng Gen X Pro on Alibaba and read DY Pickleball’s review on it. Apparently it’s a 16mm thermoformed Gen 4 full foam paddle with EVA-enhanced core, Toray T700 carbon fiber face, enhanced grit, plush feel, big sweet spot, and more balanced control/power compared to the really stiff Joola Pro-style paddles. What caught my attention though is the shape and branding itself. Curious what “Gen X” even means here and what paddle this is actually inspired by, because the shape doesn’t immediately scream straight Perseus clone to me. Parang may hybrid/J2NF-style influence because of the wider upper face and rounded profile, but I honestly can’t tell if this is based on an existing mold, multiple paddles combined together, or Yiheng trying to make its own thing already. General thoughts and opinions?

Is the Yiheng Gen X Pro basically the “King of Yihengs", the final boss of OEM paddles?

I went down the rabbit hole reading the DY Pickleball review plus older Reddit threads and comparisons, and honestly this might be the smartest Yiheng paddle so far. Not the craziest power paddle or the most explosive, but maybe the most balanced overall. Full foam Gen 4 core, EVA setup, Toray T700, gritty surface, plush feel instead of that super stiff trampoline feel, and people keep mentioning the sweet spot and forgiveness are surprisingly good for a more modern power-leaning paddle. DY basically described it as sitting between the Luzz Glider and Luzz Cannon, which sounds like a really solid middle ground for players climbing from beginner/intermediate toward 4.0. Thoughts?

What's the psychology behind "handwatch" culture?

I've been wearing watches my whole life and honestly I only discovered this whole "handwatch" thing recently online.

Genuine question, why does it feel so emotional for some people?

I understand if the fit looks completely ridiculous, but sometimes people get screenshot and mocked just because the watch sits lower on the wrist, wears loose like a bracelet, or looks bigger than what Reddit thinks is acceptable.

But outside Reddit, I've seen a lot of people wear watches like that on purpose. Some like the loose bracelet look. Some women purposely wear oversized men's watches. Some guys with smaller wrists still prefer larger watches because they like the wrist presence. Brands like Panerai, Offshore, Big Pilot, RM, etc. were literally designed to wear big.

So at some point, isn't it just preference?

What I find interesting psychologically is sometimes it doesn't even sound like a watch discussion anymore. It starts sounding more like:

"You broke the rules."

And then suddenly:

"Finally, an excuse to roast someone wearing a Rolex."

And maybe I'm wrong, but if you browse those threads, a lot of the harshest comments seem to come from people who don't even own watches in that category themselves.

I don't know if it's jealousy, hater behavior, internet culture, or just Reddit being Reddit. But sometimes it feels like the watch placement just becomes the excuse to attack the person wearing it.

Because honestly outside Reddit, most normal people don't even care.

Yiheng Alibaba Paddles in PH - Worth it? Best Clones of Joola, Loco, Honolulu, Razer, etc.?

Nag-search ako sa Alibaba tungkol sa Yiheng (Dongguan Yiheng Sports) paddles at maraming bagong models nilabas lately. They have solid clones of popular brands like Joola (Perseus/Hyperion/Pro IV), Bread & Butter Loco, Honolulu (J2NF/J2CR etc.), Razer, and more, all at a fraction of the price (around ₱1.8k–3k + shipping vs. 10k+ for originals).

Has anyone here tried the newer Yiheng paddles? Which clones are the best performers right now, Joola, Loco, Honolulu, Razer, or other new models?

What exactly was the goal here? First it was “Bill Gates has zero to do with Beyond Meat,” then it became “Okay but that was years ago,” then the comments got deleted after multiple people posted sources.

I genuinely don’t understand what this person was trying to accomplish.

The original claim was “Bill Gates has zero to do with Beyond Meat.” I corrected it because Bill Gates was publicly associated with Beyond Meat for years as an early investor. That information was easily verifiable through old articles, interviews, and public records.

But instead of simply correcting the statement, the response turned into:

- calling me “clueless”

- accusing me of manipulation and FUD

- calling me a “short” and a “bear”

- moving the goalposts to “okay but that was years ago”

- then quietly deleting the comments afterward

That’s what concerns me more than the stock debate itself.

This is a Top 1% Poster in the community. If someone with influence can confidently spread objectively false information, gaslight others after being corrected, accuse them of manipulation, then erase the comments afterward, how is that healthy for an investing subreddit?

I was never even debating the company valuation. The correction was simply that “zero involvement” was factually wrong.

Shouldn’t factual accuracy matter here? And shouldn’t repeatedly spreading misinformation while accusing others of FUD be taken seriously?

Can anyone confirm if ChatGPT and Google are wrong and this guy is actually right? Because I remember way back people already associated Beyond Meat with Bill Gates and Leonardo DiCaprio

Took a screenshot of this because now I’m confused. I remember from way back when Beyond Meat first got popular, Bill Gates was already heavily associated with it, along with Leonardo DiCaprio. That was literally part of the discussion around the company back then.

Then I double-checked again on Google and even ChatGPT, and both are still saying Bill Gates invested in Beyond Meat before. But this guy is saying otherwise and claiming Bill Gates had zero connection to it.

So now I’m wondering if I’m mixing things up with another company or if this guy is just confidently wrong.

BYD Sealion 6 Warranty Compressor Replacement, This Is the Normal EV A/C Compressor Noise Vs My Previous Video

For context, my compressor was replaced under warranty due to abnormally loud and scratchy noise. This new video is the sound of the newly replaced compressor, which sounds much smoother compared to before.

Sharing this in case future BYD Sealion 6 owners search for compressor noise, aircon problems, loud whining sound, or common faults.

Initially, I thought the noise was normal. The unit still cooled properly, so I assumed it was just how the system sounded. But after someone pointed it out, I compared it with two other Sealion 6 units and one BYD Shark, and all of them were significantly quieter.

That’s when I realized mine was not normal.

The compressor was especially loud under extreme heat and direct sun, with a noticeable whining sound like it was working too hard. Cooling still worked, but the noise was embarrassing for an EV.

I reported it during my second PMS and kept following up with the Philippine dealership.

Timeline:

  • Around 2 months waiting for warranty approval/processing
  • Around another 2 months waiting for parts to arrive
  • Installation itself was completed in just 1 day

The compressor has now been replaced, and so far, so good.

Posting this for search visibility and awareness for anyone researching BYD Sealion 6 issues, aircon noise, compressor problems, reliability, warranty experience, or long-term ownership concerns.
