Positive test 5 weeks post MA

Positive test 5 weeks post MA

Has anyone had DARK positive pregnancy tests weeks after a medical abortion? Pictures are tests from the past four days one in the morning and one at night.

I had a medical abortion on April 4th and had a follow-up appointment about 2 weeks later where my doctor confirmed the pregnancy had passed.

I still haven’t gotten my period back yet, but recently I started having brown spotting (which I know is old blood) and decided to take a pregnancy test — and it was clearly positive. Yes, I’ve had unprotected sex. To over share- My husband and I dealt with infertility issues the last 10 years so spontaneous pregnancies are foreign for us and we thought the pull out method would be fine until he got his vasectomy.

Now I’m spiraling a little wondering if: • hCG can really stay high this long • this could be a new pregnancy already • or if something else could be going on

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced dark positive tests several weeks after a medical abortion and what ended up happening for you. Did your levels just take a long time to go down? How long did it take to get your period back?

I do plan on following up with my doctor, but hearing other experiences would really help ease my anxiety right now.

MA on 4/4 and still testing positive

I had a medical abortion on April 4th and confirmed two weeks later that it was successful. I haven’t gotten my period since so I tested and it was dark positive lines. Test again the next morning still dark positive lines. I’m having some slight brown discharge when I go to the bathroom but no cramping.

I know it’s normal to test positive but is it normal to get strong positives this long after?
