Alternative to rclone to access Box Drive on filesystem/Nemo

Hi all

I use rclone to access my Box cloud storage in Nemo on Linux mint. However, it takes long to load directories with lots of folders/files, much longer than the desktop app for Box on Windows does. I've tried to have ChatGPT help me craft an rclone config file that speeds up loading of Box directories, but it doesn't really make a difference at all.

Are there any faster alternatives to rclone to do this? Box infamously get rid of WebDav years ago, making that not an option.

Alternative to WinSCP for Linux (Debian) that is not Filezilla or Termius and has interactive login capabilities?

Question in the title. Need an SFTP file manager with:

  • commander view
  • Interactive login (I use Duo authentication to log into some servers)
  • Not Filezilla
  • Not Termius

I've tried a couple that just aren't as functional as WinSCP, and could only get interactive login working as good with Termius, but free Termius lacks a lot of functionality.

For those with tinnitus in both ears, when did the tinnitus in good ear start? When did it stop increasing in the good ear?

Hi all

Have had SSNHL for three months in the right ear, but just 2-3 weeks ago I started getting quiet, high pitch hiss/clicks in my left ear (really actually feels like the back of my head left side), intermittent but usually always noticeable in quiet. 2 weeks ago it was hard to notice, now it is undeniable but still quiet. I am afraid it is going to get even louder, somehow rivaling the tinnitus in my SSNHL ear, or even worse. Why would that happen?! Does it have something to do with trialing a hearing aid?

I know this has happened to folks on here, either they get tinnitus in both ears at onset, or some months later they develop tinnitus in their good ear, but I want to know if it stayed quiet, or when it stopped increasing in the good ear. Thanks

TLDR: tinnitus can get quieter, especially in first three months, and hopefully in the year after the SSNHL! But, is it normal for tinnitus to be heard on both sides, particularly the good side tinnitus starting to be heard long after the initial loss?

Hi all

I'm 3 months out from severe-profound right-sided SSNHL, and with oral steroids, IT injections, and 20 sessions HBOT, fully recovered up to 1500 Hz, but then have -60 dB loss from 2000 Hz upwards. Currently trialing a unilateral Widex Allure...it's somewhat of a benefit, but doesn't really help with speech in noise unfortunately, and buzzy distortion at the edge of my hearing loss can still be quite salient in noisy environments, and with my own speech.

Just wanted to share I do think tinnitus has quieted down noticeably for me — certainly since day 1, and possibly week by week. I have a quiet set of tones in silence, and during the day the reactive part of my tinnitus is hissy/whiny/tonal with chirps and twinkles, but is always just slightly audible with background noise (and depending on the background noise, less audible). Certainly can hear it constantly 24/7, but I ironically consider myself pretty lucky (as well as with the hearing recovery I managed to have).

Of course, there is always something else to worry about — I do think the tinnitus is "bleeding" into my good/left ear. In a quiet room, it is a faint tonal hiss, probably at 10k Hz or above. However, sometimes there are chirps (like really cut short beeps, not dissimilar to the chirps I get on the right side but more sporadic and much more brief). The chirping I noticed gets more frequent/louder when I am running and right after running, but lately I am noticing it even not after exercising. It is objectively quieter than my bad ear T, but (a testament to how quiet it has become in silence) almost as a loud in silence at night. Quiet, but constant.

My question is: is it normal for tinnitus to "spread" or begin in the good ear after SSNHL? Is it possible for tinnitus to get notably worse months after SSNHL? Seems like many on here report improvements if not constancy after an SSNHL, but I'm worried that the development of tinnitus in my good ear means it could get worse in the good ear (or even worse, that that ear is more likely to be subject to hearing loss).

Thanks, and peace to everyone
