What sunfish is this? Caught in Lake Simcoe, Ontario
Hello everyone, can anyone help me identify this sunfish? Caught it when ice fishing last winter in Lake Simcoe, Ontario Canada.
At that time I thought it was rock bass but it doesn’t have the red eyes. I came across a random post talking about warm mouth bass, it looks very similar, but I googled its habitat and it’s no where near that north in Canada.
Also I hooked it with minnow head as bait if that helps with a bit of more information.
Any insights will be helpful and thanks in advance.
