I am postpartum and my disability leave was extended by my OB. My initial leave ended 8/15. I received my last payment but I haven’t received the extension form or DE 2525. How long does it take before you get it in the mail?
My doctor has put me on disability leave 6 weeks before my delivery date until Aug. 15.
I delivered June 9 and I know I’m entitled for 6 weeks (not using baby bonding) which is until July 21 only. I am planning to ask for extension for my disability because I was readmitted due to infection and postpartum blues is starting to hit.
My question is am I good to continue my disability leave until Aug. 15 or should I submit anything (Dr’s note) by July 21? It’s my first delivery here in CA and I’m confused.
On my 5th day postpartum, I was not feeling well
but continued to breastfeed my LO. He latches but my supply is very low. We still give him formula after. In the following morning, I started to have fever and went to ER. They said I have UTI and prescribed me an antibiotic which is safe for breastfeeding. I went home and I remember LO latched on me for 15-20 minutes. After a few hours I started to have chills and high fever and rushed to the ER. Turns out I have mild sepsis and was admitted for IV antibiotics. My blood and urine culture is positive for gram negative rods, awaiting for final result to find out what specific bacteria is present.
Now I’m very worried if I passed harm to my LO. It’s been 2 days since he last latched on me and thankfully not showing any signs of sickness. Feeding and sleeping well. Still worried though.
