My 13 year old son is struggling with mental health
I first found that my son was suicidal when I saw how to cut your wrist in his phone, we tried to talk about it but he wouldn’t open up. It’s been about 11 months and I have found a suicide note. He said he wrote it when he got grounded. I don’t feel like these are normal reactions.
He has never made a self harm attempt. He is in counselling and life coach. But he refuses to talk to me and says he is safe and he is fine, even tho when I read his messages he tells his friends he has a plan.
I have to work and he is an only child so I have to leave him during the day and every single minute I am constantly worrying.
What do I do? He won’t talk to me, he seems happy and fine and we laugh, he continues his sports, he calls his friends, we watch movies and talk and it all seems normal. He seems happy but obviously in his phone he is not.
I continue to try and get him to open up and he says I force him to talk. I give him counselling and he said he is fine.
I really don’t know what to do. It’s not normal for 13 year old to go through this is it?
Any advice would be helpful
