I want to repair this as my first job

So I've got this bass and I want to repair it. My woodworking skills are limited to making bird houses as a kid, but I do have access to a basic set of tools at a school and also at a small private workshop.

Any assesment of the break and guidance as to what to do with it would be appriciated.

based on wathching luthier asmr for one train ride I'm thinking that i should brush the wood to be straight everywhere so it fits like a puzzle piece, glue it with some glue I can't rememeber now but it had a fun name like holdtigt or something, clamp it or wrap it in rubber tubes, then potentially route some holes to put supporting wood blocks if it's needed later?
