Biprachरण Chakravarti’s eldest son, Ramranjan Chakravarti, was given the title of “Raja” in 1875, after which he was awarded the title of “Raja Bahadur” in 1877. Hetampur Raj was the largest zamindari in the district. The zamindars of this estate donated all their major buildings for schools and colleges.
