Help!!! Stuck on a tutorial

Help!!! Stuck on a tutorial

I have been following the above tutorial to learn Plasticity. Around the 01:09:00 mark, he mentions needing to patch something and a sheet is created in the assets (terminology?) menu. He kind of goes back and forth on what he's saying. When I attempt to patch the rectangle, Plasticity tells me there's nothing to patch, which, from what I can see on my end, I agree with. But if I continue watching, I don't see why we couldn't have just stuck with thicken (or even extruding) the rectangle and then moving into the radial array.

Regardless, I'm trying to follow the tutorial and I don't even know how to create a sheet at all or why I would want to.

I'm not sure this question belongs in this sub. If it doesn't come a kindly point me to the right direction.

I work in a nursing home and I love the job, but the worst part of it is when people you become close with pass away. I've had two particularly tough losses: one in November and one in March. I don't know if it's just because it's still pretty new, but I get these waves of sadness and intensely missing these particular people. And I'm not new to having people pass away so I'm aware of and have been through the grieving process before. Would it be weird/okay/acceptable to seek out a medium to help resolve these things? To be clear, I've never been to a medium. I don't know if this is proper/professional/ethical.
