A buddy of mine & I are going up to Bala for a concert in July & we were thinking of stopping in Barrie the night before to visit family & possibly go out for a bit since it’ll be on a Saturday we’ll be there. Wanted to ask of any recommendations of some solid bars/clubs in the area, preferably in the downtown area.

From what I’ve looked at so far the night life seems pretty tame to what it used to be like 10-20 years ago. I heard the Ranch is decent and Queens is good too just can be a bit sketchy at times, which doesn’t bother us too much since we’re used to going to bars with a similar vibe where we’re from. Preferably we’d wanna go to a bar with a good social atmosphere to meet people & have a good time. I hear there’s not many options for clubs but any input would be nice for anyone who’s familiar with the recent night life in Barrie.

A buddy of mine & I are going to see Shaggy at the Kee to Bala in July and are planning on staying the night in Gravenhurst since it’s the cheapest option for hotels. I’ve called a few taxi companies (Muskoka Taxi & A Taxi to be specific) and they’re charging no less than $100 one way for a ride. Just wanted to see if there’s any cheaper alternatives since paying both ways would be roughly the same price as the hotel room we’ll be staying at. Would appreciate it if anyone had any information on the matter!
