Pointers for this Bote Repair?

My son's Bote Aero Ultra hit something and got this nasty cut, approx 2" right on the bow. I have the Bote supplied patch material and RH HH-66 vinyl cement, as far as I can tell this is the recommended cement.

I have read and watched a few instructions and the plan is to clean the area with acetone, coat patch and sup with cement, let tack, apply and get air bubbles out.

My questions: Should I over hang the patch over the seam or keep it strictly on the yellow.

Should I flatten the patched area and add some weighted object on top while it cures?

Any risk of the patch failing completely mid use on the water? He always has his pfd on, but I don't want to have to deal with recovering a sinking paddle board while in a kayak.

Making new beds with horse manure

Preface: been gardening for nearly 40 years, but never have dealt with fresh horse manure. I am in ohio.

Currently my property has a lot of shade and trees so we have small raised beds. We have about an acre of actual lawn left that i am slowly turning into either garden, small pasture and polinator beds. Our soil is very crap (thin top soil with clay) and needs amended anywhere i try to grow anything. Recently I talked to a neighbor with stables and he told me to take all rhe horse manure I want. Obviously it takes a good while to break down, I have it piled and turn every week or so with my excavator.

I have a 10x20ish area of sunny grass I want to turn into next year's sweet corn patch. Debating if I should lay old cardboard and cover with 12" or so of manure now, then add more manure and till before winter, or leave the manure piled to cook and install the whole thing in the spring.

Any input on these servos

I am not new to CNC, I made my living during covid with my plasma table, have built a few small machines like root and open builds, and at one time owned a 5x10 industrial cnc I bought second hand and brought back to life.

That said. I have no experience with servos. I recently acquired a 4x8 cnc glue application machine dirt cheap, and want to retrofit it to be a router. It only has one side of the y axis powered so I will need to fabricate a gantry plate and motion for that side, no issue there.

The main question is that it has servos. My gut tells me that they will be too small to carry a gantry with spindle and be able to mill aluminum or hardwood. I can't find much information on the actual force they create. Any input? I'd love to use them, as they are a quality servo, but not if they are undersized for the application. I plan to retrofit the controls with something more modern that can handle vfd control, but keeping these hard parts would be nice.
