I’ve been working on this psychological horror game for 2 months. Continue or move on?

The game begins on the protagonist’s 8th birthday, when he discovers that his mother was murdered by his own father.

The trauma follows him for the rest of his life. Despite severe psychological issues, he eventually becomes a crime scene investigator, almost obsessively trying to understand violence, death, and the past he could never escape from.

Years later, during what seems like a routine investigation, he’s sent to examine a case at an old hotel — the same hotel where his mother was killed.

From that point on, the line between reality, memory, guilt, and paranoia slowly starts to collapse.

I’ve been working on this project solo for a while, mostly focusing on atmosphere, environmental storytelling, and psychological tension rather than cheap jumpscares.

But honestly, I’ve reached a point where I can’t fully tell if this project has real potential or if I’m too deep into it to judge objectively anymore.

So I’d genuinely love honest feedback:
Does this concept/world feel interesting enough to keep developing into a full game?

I've been working solo on Delsoma Hotel, aiming to capture the heavy, oppressive atmosphere of classic survival horror games.

Recently, I completely overhauled the interaction system to make it as immersive as possible. The UI completely hides when you are inspecting items or reading notes (like the "Hotel Closing" document in the video) so nothing breaks the tension. Combined with UE5's Lumen lighting, the dark corridors are finally starting to feel genuinely terrifying.
