Dose anyone have mpeg or even the iso files for the dvd of Fighting Foodons i can only find heavily compressed webdls or webrips and past that I can't find anything else

I've moved from plex to jellyfin but noticed jellyfin isn't directly playing Dolby Vision files it plays but struggles unlike plex where it boots right in and just plays. is there a setting im not seeing or dose jellyfin just suck with this? Because I'd love to fully switch but this has been a hurdle i wasn't expecting to have a problem with

install the "JustPlayer" on your device and switch the playback type in your jellyfin app to "external player" to JustPlayer.

The reason Plex didn't have any problems with your DV Media is because it uses the "ExoPlayer" as internal playback engine. That means it can detect your DV P7 files HDR10 BaseLayer and just trows away the enhancement layers metadata. That guarantees a smooth playback while sacrificing the benefits of the enhancement layer like dynamic brightness or even 12Bit Color Range.

Jellyfin on the other hand uses a web-based player per default, which instantly causes your client to request a transcode because neither your firecube or TV can natively decode DV Profile 7 Video.

The JustPlayer is based on the ExoPlayer and supports a wide range of video and audio formats. It will do the same thing as Plex at this point. So you won't have any HDR10Plus benefits at all when playing DV but at least you still have the HDR10 Core and a smooth playback if the Video Bitrate is not limited by your network bandwidth. The only downside of justplayer is, that it doesn't hand over realtime playback information back to your jellyfin server.

Just give it a try and see if the playback quality becomes as good as you had when using Plex.
