Is anyone else noticing more and more editing being done to older movies?

A couple of weeks ago I was watching Iron Man and noticed that they cut a very brief chunk out of one of the earliest scenes when Tony is traveling in the military convoy before being kidnapped. Today I’m watching Princess Diaries and noticed they cut out like maybe 20 seconds of dialogue between Mia and her mom in a really inconsequential scene.

I don’t agree with it but I could see the justification of them altering the Iron Man scene because Tony was making some remarks that could be viewed as sexist but the dialogue they cut out of Princess Diaries was just Mia’s mom holding her while telling her that her own mom didn’t let her cry but Mia’s been hurt so it’s okay to cry.

Is this just normal now? Growing up I know they used to alter movies shown on TV so they could fit in the time slots with the commercials but I can’t understand why they’re doing this with streaming

Moving away from beloved long time NK’s. Any suggestions for books to include in my goodbye gift?

I’m currently about a month out from moving away from the only city I’ve ever nannied in and I’ll be leaving a couple of families I’ve built incredible relationships with behind. One has a little boy whose now 4 that I began nannying for when he was about 11 months old and one has two kids, 2 and almost 4, that I began nannying for when the eldest was 9 months. I haven’t worked with either full time in a couple of years but I still regularly babysit for both families and have close bonds with all 3 kids.

I’m working on some little goodbye gifts for the last time I see them and because I’ve always been very big on books I know I want to include a couple. I’ve been looking at some but nanny’s or even family members moving away doesn’t really seem a common enough topic to justify specific titles. I’ve found some really sweet ones that are in the right vein but am wondering if there are a couple that might fit a little better with our situation. I’ll be keeping in contact with both families and will hopefully continue to see them sometimes but logistically there’s no way to make it a frequent thing. I gave both families copies of “All the places you’ll go” when they started their daycare placements so unfortunately that one’s out.

Some of the titles I’ve found so far:

The Invisible String and The Invisible Web by Patrice Karst

I Hope You Will Know by Jaren Ahlmann

I’ll Love You From Afar by Racha Mourtda (This one made me tear up and I’m 95% sure I’m going to include it)

Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated!
