One of my favorite type of characters in anime are mad scientists, something jjk doesnt have enough of. So i decided to make my own technique for one. Note that the name is still a work in progress and this is just the base technique without any extension techniques or anything.

Gene Splicing is an innate cursed technique that allows the user to analyze and copy cursed energy-related abilities of a target. The technique comes with a built-in binding vow that requires the user to first make physical contact with the targets cursed energy, while also being aware of at least one of the targets abilities, as the technique will analyze the strongest ability the user is aware of in its most basic form. At this moment the cursed technique activates and gives the user access to the first stage of the technique “Separation.” Every further contact the user is able to make between their cursed energy and the target speeds up the process, although the total length of the process also depends on the strength of the ability.

Separation allows the User to create spinning vortexes of cursed energy. These can be used as ranged attacks or at point-blank to enhance the users physical attacks.
After the ability has been analyzed enough, the User then gains access to a second technique called “Melt”.
Melt allows the User to create immense heat within their cursed energy, enough that it is able to weaken the cursed energy control of anyone they attack with it. It does however require physical contact to be used, or must at least be imbued into other uses of cursed energy, such as in blasts or combined with Separation, as otherwise it dissipates.

Only once both Separation and Melt have been used on the target and the ability has been fully analyze, does the cursed technique complete its function, creating a talisman within the users hand. This talisman is inscribed with both a detailed description of how the ability works, to a level comparable to seeing it with six eyes, as well as with a literal copy of the way the ability is imbued into its original user.
By channelling their cursed energy through the talisman, the user can use the ability inscribed within it. This process burns out the talisman akin to the way a domain does, and losing focus or lacking the necessary understanding of the ability can cause the talisman to burn away. This is somewhat cancelled the better understanding of the technique the user has, as it allows them to channel their cursed energy more efficiently.

Soul Absorption is an innate Cursed Technique that allows the User to perform a ritual allowing them to absorb the Soul of any defeated beings. This is done by creating an area around the User that automatically absorbs the soul of anything that dies within it, be it a sorcerer or cursed spirit.

The presence of each Soul is shown on the Users body as markings, the appearance of which depends on the soul in question.

Upon absorbing a soul, the user gains access to their cursed energy reserves and any abilities related to it (such as cursed techniques and cursed energy traits), as long as those abilities are intrinsic to the soul and not learned. It is also necessary to note that the User is unable to use any cursed techniques as they are, instead they are imbued into normal cursed techniques used by the User.

For example absorbing the Soul of ogi zenin would imbue the users cursed energy amplification with flames. This also means that more complex cursed techniques don't have any effect the user can use, such as Cursed Spirit Manipulation or Ten Shadows.

Extension Technique: Undying Return

Using the markings on their body as a medium, the user is able to summon Shikigami that hold the absorbed soul. This provides the Shikigami with the ability to use the cursed technique of the soul, as the function of it is edged into the very being of the Shikigami. While doing so the User has no access to the soul and the Shikigami shows personality and physical traits similar to the soul used to summon it.

Extension Technique: Deathless Deal

This extension Technique allows the User to destroy one or multiple of the souls they absorbed in exchange for an automatic Reverse Cursed technique. Usually this technique is only activated through a binding vow that requires the User to suffer a fatal wound in exchange for a greater output of RCT, but the User does have the ability to use the technique whenever they want, although the resulting boost in RCT is far smaller.

Extension Technique: Death Rebirth

Only activated should the User die, this extension Technique is only possible due to a binding vow that makes it impossible for the User to use it at will. In exchange for this, the technique is amplified to such an extent that it allows the User to absorb their own soul after death and effectively turn into a hybrid of a human and a cursed spirit.

Maximum Cursed Energy Output: Deathless Deal

By destroying all of their absorbed souls, the User can gain an amount of RCT high enough to make them effectively immortal for a long time, although any wounds suffered will reduce the time it can be upheld.

Maximum Technique: Underworld Homunculus

Representing the absolute peak of Soul Absorption, this technique allows the User to merge all of the Souls stored in their body into a singular Shikigami with many heads, each holding a specific soul and its abilities. This Shikigami appears as a massive skeleton with many snake-like necks holding monstrous heads, each looking like a warped version of the soul.

Elasticity is an innate Cursed Technique that allows the User to bring the concept of Elasticity into reality. This is done by the User creating a point, Point A, after making physical contact with the target. This forms a “barrier” between the target and anything coming into contact with the target or getting close to it (called Point B).

The barrier is based on the positions of Point A and Point B and ensures that the general position stays the same over a period of time, using an output of force through cursed energy as a means to do so.

This force output counteracts any input force and the User is able to adjust the time period at will. Should the position of point A change during the time interval, it's position has priority over that of point B. This can be used to create a forced output force, such as by punching point B and then having the output force act as a “secondary punch”

Extension Technique: Stretch

Stretch is an extension Technique that allows the User to focus on one specific area of the target, creating a much smaller point A. This can be used to make opponents harm themselves by moving, as the force output forcibly tries to readjust their body to its previous position or it can be chained together to make a spreading wave of force output.

By making the wave itself also a target of the cursed technique, the User can use the wave to create pseudo-elasticity in the objects. To fully make use of this, the User has to also make themself another point A, the resulting clash between the different force outputs will then allow them to fully interact with the elastic wave.

Im working on a cursed technique called "Familiar Combustion Technique" that allows the user to conjure a cursed tool similar to a Tanegashima matchlock. The User is able to fire cursed energy blasts through this rifle, but the real advantage comes when it is combined with the summoning of Shikigami. Using their own hair as a medium (this is a binding vow build into the technique), the User can summon bullet-like Shikigami that are under full control of the User. The mouth of these Shikigami acts as an extension of the Users domain, meaning that they can pass through almost anything with ease and being hit by them makes regeneration using RCT more difficult.

A few extension techniques i had in mind would be one allowing the User to make their shikigami have domain amplification, as a way to bypass any defenses (though im unsure if this could work) and another one would be one allowing the User to summon a smaller, pepperbox-like gun instead, which fires multiple shikigami at once in exchange for a loss of range.

The maximum Technique would likely be very simple, something like firing a larger Shikigami using a larger rifle (the size and strength would obviously depend on the User). The domain is not something i have thought about yet and the Technique seems to simple to have a Technique Reversal.

Cursed Technique: Destruction Shikigami Summon
Destruction Shikigami Summon is an innate Technique that allows the User to spawn moth-like shikigami directly without the use of a medium, as their cursed energy itself acts as a medium. As the shikigami are solely made out of the Users cursed energy, they are able to manipulate them fully and even use them as an extension of their own cursed energy. In the hands of a skilled enough user, the Shikigami can even be used as an extension of their own senses.

Extension Technique: Lunar Knight
Lunar Knight is an extension Technique that creates a swarm of Shikigami and then breaks them apart to use as reinforcement for the users body or weapons. This allows the User to recreate parts of the Shikigami when necessary, allowing them to fly or use them as a way to counter damage.

Extension Technique: Heavenly Moth
By using RCT on the cursed energy composing a shikigami, the User is able to imbue them with positive energy that is active upon contact with the target. This can be used to heal others, destroy cursed spirits or even bring the user back from the brink of death.

Extension Technique: Steel String
Steel String is an extension Technique that allows the User to imbue their Shikigami with a barrier that is shared across multiple Shikigami. The lines between the Shikigami act as the boundaries for said barrier and allow the User to make use of new Shadow Style techniques. This is most commonly used to counter attacks without the need to deflect them with Shikigami.

Maximum Technique: Moonlight Departure
Moonlight Departure is the Maximum Technique of Destruction Shikigami Summon, allowing the User to create a gigantic moth-like Shikigami. The User is able to freely manipulate the cursed Energy of this Shikigami, allowing them to turn parts of it into a swarm of smaller Shikigami, reshape the Shikigami after it has been nearly destroyed or even use the entire Shikigami as a giant cursed energy reserve. By turning the entire Shikigami into a massive explosion, the User can temporarily gain one of the highest cursed energy outputs in history.

For the domain expansion im thinking something along the lines of a moon surface that is covered in dust, but said dust is actually a bunch of moths. But i am struggling to make it unique and not just another version of dagons domain.
