I decided to break off my engagement

I posted before on here about this, don’t want to repeat myself too much but I decided to break off my engagement to a great man. Yes we’ve had some downs, but all relationships do, and I won’t say I’m completely innocent in that, I am much more forward, cutthroat, and expressive during arguments, while he remains reserved, patient, even kind when I say mean things.

I’m F22 , he’s M31 , been together two years, nothing is exactly wrong with us but there just seems to be a deeper connection that I crave. He’s not the interested/curious type to ask questions.

I guess I’m just having second thoughts, is it ridiculous to break up over this? We laugh together, have similar interests, I love his friends and family, he’s stable, supportive, he doesn’t fight, he is a little more reserved and not as emotional as me though. He’s lacks passion and curiosity in the relationship.

He’s an introvert, I’m an extrovert. I guess what I’m asking is does your partner ask you questions, and I mean more deeper conversations. Like obviously we can talk about random things but I’m more so curious if your long term partner asks about your deeper opinions, thoughts, expressions about life.

Is that something that isn’t necessary for a long term commitment? Would you able to do without it? What are your thoughts

Conflicted about breaking off my engagement. How did you know when they weren’t the one?

I’m F22 and my Fiance M31 have been together for over 2 years, lived together for about the same time, I truly love him and I do believe he truly loves me but I’m conflicted. When I imagine my ideal relationship I just imagine someone energetic, excited, and just passionate.

I don’t really look forward to going on dates with him or having uninterrupted time together because he doesn’t really talk to me, I feel I’m always the one asking questions, and he really just doesn’t have a desire to be curious or interested like that.

I will admit many of our fights happen after we’ve been drinking and he likes to say I’m an angry drunk but I have never felt this way with anyone else. I’m generally a happy, free spirited person, have never felt angry drunk with anyone else.

There are days he’s left me crying myself to sleep, not talking to me all day. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I don’t know if I’m being young and dumb and will end up leaving a good man to never find someone like him again, stable, patient, but I just can’t get over his coldness and emotional unavailability.

Or will I be happy I left and end up meeting the man of my dreams later. Also hard Becuase I’m experiencing freedom like never before while I’m with him, can be at school without worrying about finances, have access to his car for my job and other responsibilities, if I leave him all I have is me, dealing through a break up and all the logistics.

Older women of Reddit please please give me some words of advice.

Update: I feel this is not getting across that I do like to spend time with him, and used to be on him about dates often but when i realized that he kinda never wants to have deep talks, interested about my life or my past. Thats when i stopped caring.

Looking to Start a 90s Cover Band (Chicago)

F22 vocalist looking to start a band centered around some of my favorite female artists from the ’90s. (Guys are absolutely welcome too, if you genuinely love this music.)

Tori Amos
Natalie Merchant
Sarah McLachlan
Alanis Morissette
Liz Phair
Sheryl Crow
Mazzy Star
Natalie Imbruglia
Stevie Nicks

I’m looking for a guitarist, bassist, drummer, and keyboardist who loves this stuff. The goal is to rehearse 1-2x a week, have a blast jamming together, and eventually play local venues around Chicago.

You definitely don’t have to be a pro. If you’re a beginner who’s committed, willing to practice the same song a million times, and want to grow into a fun confident band together, I’d love to hear from you.

Fun is a non-negotioable, this isn’t something you have to do, but something you want to do! just to play
music and be around inspiring, good vibes.

If this sounds like you, Dm me:
Your age
What you play
A little about yourself
Why this music resonates with you

Let’s have some fun ;)
