Aloha!! I’m an international Pacific Islander (not from Hawai’i, but from another island) that’s thinking about coming to UH Hilo starting this fall. I was wondering if anyone could provide info on lifestyle, safety, transport and just general info that would be good for a college student to know. I’ve definitely done my own research but I think it’s always good to get advice from locals as well:)

Hey everyone. I'm a prospective international student at HPU for spring 27. I was wondering if anyone had advice about the school, lifestyle, quality of education, and sports (as I would be a student-athlete). I would look to live off-campus, but I know that you most likely need a mode of transportation to get to and from everywhere. I'm coming from a school that was very athlete driven and competitive, so I'm looking for that competitive aspect again, but also a more balanced lifestyle. I'm currently deciding between HPU and a school in NYC, so any insight would be great!! Thank you in advance:)
Hey everyone. I'm thinking about committing to Queens as an athlete for this coming fall. I am an international student so do not know a ton about Queens and NYC. Is Queens College a safe school to go to? I used to go to a smaller college that was in a small town and super safe (no campus security, could walk alone at night etc...), so I thought this was the best place to ask about that kind of stuff. If anyone has any stories, insight, or red flags (lol) please lmk! Any info helps to make my decision, thanks!!!
