GERD onset by alcohol?

hi everyone, i'm new to this subreddit, but have found a lot of comfort in reading many posts and wanted to ask if anyone has had a similar diagnosis like mine...

i'm not a big drinker, more a social drinker, i'll get 1 or 2 drinks out if at dinner with my husband or at the movies with friends. on easter, i went to the movies and had 2 small blueberry mimosas and then after the movie had a frozen mango margarita, which unknown to me until i started drinking it had tajin mixed into it which immediately irritated my stomach and caused some nausea and bloating so i only had a few sips... that nausea lasted for about 5 hours until i eventually threw the drink up and noticed that next week i had some irritation whenever i would eat dinner, and one night i had a salad (bad idea) and had the worst acid reflux i thought i was going to throw up again. i ended up finding a GI specialist who explained she thought i had acute GERD/gastritis onset by alcohol, and prescribed me a low dose of famotidine to help with healing my stomach lining and managing the acid production in my stomach

it's been two months and i've been on a whole foods diet, avoiding spicy and citrusy things, dairy and caffeine don't trigger me - i'm still taking my famotidine, along with a full probiotic, and digestive enzymes when i eat my heavier meals (lunch/dinner) but still deal with uncomfortable bloating and lingering fullness for hours on end, wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar? and has any helpful tips for getting through this, i've never had stomach issues before or experienced acid reflux until that day so this is all new territory and i really want to educate myself and work on healing
