First FET

Just documenting this for all the frantic googlers trying to find someone in their shoes. I’m 29, AMH .6, I had my 3 year old daughter without assistance and a few months of trying. Have been trying for #2 for about 1.5 years.

First ER- 8 retrieved, all failed to fertilize due to “thick spiky Zona”.

Next ER we got 10, diff ICSI, 7 mature, 5 fertilized, 3 made it to day 5 and we transferred 1 “stage 1” blast. We were told we had 2 more they were watching till day 6, on day 6 we were told they didnt meet “freezing criteria”. I was too upset to ask questions or ask to freeze anyway.

Anyway- here I am 6dp5dt. I had very period like cramping 4dpt-5dpt. For me this means mild and present but not debilitating. I get a signature migraine before my period like clockwork, I started to feel tinglings of that headache this morning. My boobs Were swollen and sore days 4-5, now today just mildly sore and deflated. I think this means I’m out. I’m not going to home test because I need a definitive result or else I’ll keep going in circles mentally.

I’m devastated, it’s unlikely we will try again due to insurance lifetime maximums and the tolls the appointments take on me and my family (clinic 2 hours away). Im dreading beta day. Anyway, thats all. Maybe someone will relate.

“Stage 1 blast” transfer

I had my first transfer today. After my first ER, everything failed to fertilize due to “thick/spikey zona”. This time, I got 10 eggs, 7 mature, 5 fertilized, 1 maybe 2 blasts (they said they’d know more tomorrow, day 6). During my transfer (day 5, fresh), the doc made a comment about it being “stage 1 blastocyst” and generally sounded kind of negative when i asked follow up questions. There’s no other grade that I was given. I’m spiraling. Any expertise here? Anecdotal experience?
