What is the best EV in India with physical controls atleast for basic functions?
I have been driving Swift and Creta all my life. and for the last 3 years I have been planning to buy an XUV700. But now I’m in a bit of a dilemma of buying petrol car or move to EV! considering the increasing petrol prices and since I already have two petrol cars at home - EV makes sense.
I researched a bit and found Mahindra XEV 9e and Tata Harrier EV are good. I dont trust Mahindras after sales, so I test driven Harrier recently and honestly loved driving it, it's comfort and overall driving experience were great.
But the touch screens....😅
Why are we putting everything on a touchscreen? I really don't want to use a screen just to turn off AC or for anything except music and map. I want physical buttons or knobs for things I use while driving.
They even told me that the touch buttons are the future 😂
Maybe for some but I use mechanical keyboard for work and there are no proper button options in any model
Not sure about Mahindra's after-sales/service experience based on many reviews and i got a chance to talk with be6 owner and he also said same thing.
So I'm fullyout of options, what would you guys recommend?
- Harrier EV?
- Test - XEV 9e?
- Another EV that I can consider?
- Or should I just stick with petrol/XUV700 for now?
- Or I'm feeling that if we wait for another year we may get proper controller option in EV car's!
And most importantly, what do you guys think about touch controls in cars? I am not even 30 but because of this I'm feeling like becoming an old man.... or are physical buttons actually better for something as frequently used as AC, volume, etc.? 😄
Would love to hear from people who actually own these cars, especially regarding long-term reliability, service experience and day-to-day usability.
