Hello it's a me-Rain again, Yahoo! Thanks again for Asparagus for covering for me yesterday, it was SUPER close between Dante and Shante in yesterdays Deadlock but Dante managed to get just 1 more vote then the Half Genie Hero and make it into the roster! Alongside him Crash Bandicoot was a unanimous decision today as he takes the next spot on the roster! For now he's the 3rd character of the final wave but we'll likely move him to the final pass if we don't feel like anyone would surpass him as the final character added to the roster.

I keep seeing a bunch of Smash Reboot rosters everywhere recently so decided to throw my hat into the ring and make one myself. I've seen a ton of different predicted amounts of characters like 30, 60 even 100 so I decided to start from 0 and build my way back up.

First roster is the New Starting 12-Having a roster size the same as the OG game but adding the Miis alongside them for 15 characters total. Weirdly enough I found it a lot easier cutting down the roster to so few characters and it ended up getting more and more difficult as I upped the number of characters.

Next we got the Melee sized roster-Well it's a bit over because Melee had 26 characters so I added 1 more and the Miis to make it 30. This is where I wanted to build up the core cast of characters for franchises like Mario and Zelda while also adding a couple glaring omissions like Shulk, Pit and Captain Falcon. I was debating what direction to go in here beyond that since I felt like I could either A. Not add any guest characters until I reach a Brawl Amount of Characters. B. Add a couple guests but don't add any newcomers until the Brawl sized roster or C. Try my best to do a bit of both-Which is what I went for in the end. I won't talk much about the picks I made but if you're curious why/when I picked them etc. then I'd be happy to answer any questions on them.

Moving on to the Brawl sized roster-Though it's a fair bit bigger then Brawl since this is effectively Brawl + Miis with no cuts from Melee. I know there's still some glaring omissions but I wanted to try balance out when characters debuted-Rather then just adding a bunch of iconic Retro picks like Ness, Mr Game & Watch and Ice Climbers I chose to broaden the scope having characters like R.O.B, Little Mac, Isaac as a Newcomer, Wii-Fit Trainer and Min Min.

Then we get to the 60 character roster which is just under the amount of characters Smash 4 had after DLC and just over how many the game would have had if this was an Ultimate style game with all the vets added back. Finally I get to add most a couple of the most iconic retro characters that were missing while also fleshing out some more franchises a bit more. Unfortunately I just didn't have room for Ice Climbers and a few other picks, if I had a couple more spaces I probs would have added Ike to the base roster and Ice Climbers too but just unfortunately never had the room for it-I'd either have to cut down on Newcomers or not give other franchises the amount of reps I felt they deserved.

Finally we've got DLC! Honestly for the most part this is mainly just me being self-indulgent. I added back a few missing Vets who I really felt like should come back but I didn't have room for in base like Lucario, Ike and Joker and added a couple popular picks like Shovel Knight and 2B but for the most part this is just who I'd like to see get added 😂

But yeah that's everything! A 15, 30, 45 and 60 Character roster with a bonus of 21 DLC characters. I absolutely added a few self indulgent picks (Especially during the DLC) but for the most part I think I did okay? Maybe not I guess I'll find out after I hit post so I guess I'll see 😂

So quite the funny occurrence happened with us trying to pick the next DLC Character-First things first the latest Echo Fighter being added to the roster is Black Knight as an Echo Fighter of Ike! As for the DLC Choice for today...well we've reached Deadlock! I think on numerous occasions us judges have mentioned that we don't see both of these characters getting added to the roster-It's either one or the other. So it's kinda fitting that both of these characters are placed against each other in a Deadlock! In 1 corner we have returning Veteran Rosalina & Luma while in the other corner we have Newcomer Waluigi! While the judges can change their minds it's very likely that whoever loses this deadlock won't get a chance to join the roster-So really think about who you wanna vote for today! Rosalina & Luma or Waluigi?

Day 64 of Smash Factor is here! The results of yesterday's Deadlock are in and Krystal managed to beat Sans in order to become Nintendo's 2nd 1st party DLC character! While JC's submission may have lost the deadlock the judges were at least a fan of their DLC picks today since every judge voted for 1 of their DLC picks with 3 judges voting for Sora and 2 judges voting for Waluigi. Obviously with 3 votes to 2 Sora won out and became the first fighter of the 2nd wave of DLC! Since Sora's a veteran he wouldn't need a new cinematic trailer like in his announcement for Ultimate so instead we figured he could be announced alongside a new wave of DLC-Like "Guess what? We're doing a season 2! And Sora's coming back baby!" So yeah that was the logic behind Sora starting off a new wave of DLC.

Day 61 of Smash Factor is here! Sorry it's a little later then usual but the results are in and Ashley and Moss are your latest editions to the roster! Currently Ashley is the Free DLC pick but you can still vote for a different free DLC pick if you want! We do move around the DLC picks occasionally like Arle was originally Wave 2 slot 1 and we moved her up a slot. Day 59 of Smash Factor is here and we've already reached our first Deadlock of the DLC 😂 The Deadlock is between 2 Echo Fighters-Proto Man for Mega Man and Moss for Oatchi! As for the DLC pick? Well it was unanimous, Arle joins the roster as our first DLC pick! She'll be the 1st character of Wave 2! Felt like it'd be good to give a bit of distance between the base release of the game and Arle's inclusion just because we already have a Sega Newcomer in the base roster as is, besides that though she seems like a pretty early DLC pick so we made her the first character of Wave 2.

Also I have to make a confession-I didn't noticed Proto Man or Black Shadow's submissions until I was copy and pasting the judges comments for the pictures 😂 Quick TLDR Proto Man I'd be hesitant on just because I'm unfamiliar with Mega Man but from appearances alone it feels hard to imagine him as an Echo? Like he's got that shield that he carry's with him everywhere and I feel like to make him an Echo they'd have to get rid of the shield or pretty much ignore it entirely for his moveset. The other thing is that I think it may diminish Zero's chances as a Newcomer in the future and I really think they're a much better choice as a 2nd Mega Man rep. As for Black Shadow I'll have to look for it sometime but I've read an entire essay on why Black Shadow shouldn't be a clone of Captain Falcon and should be his own unique character if he gets added and now I can't see him as a clone-I'll have to try and find it sometime. After an extremely close Deadlock Kazuya managed to just beat out Min Min by 2 votes towards the end earning the penultimate slot on the roster, but Min Min still managed to win enough of the judges favour to be voted as the final character to be added onto the roster!

Day 57 of Smash Factor is here! Which means that it's finally time to wrap up the base roster! Now I'd normally announce the winner of Day 56 here but we reached Deadlock again 😂 This time it's between 2 Veterans from Ultimate's 2nd Fighter Pass-Min Min from Arms and Kazuya from Tekken!

You genuinely can't make this shit up, Cloud is back in Deadlock AGAIN! 😂 We've joked about Cloud getting cucked over and over again in this roster so far but funnily enough Ernie may have cucked themselves here because going up against Cloud is none other then Ernie's other character submission of Palutena 😂

So as usual with Deadlock I'll post both submissions in the comments below and whichever one with the most upvotes will be given Day 49's slot, but still continue to submit your own characters because while you choose between Cloud and Palutena we'll be looking over todays submissions and judging who we think should be added next.

Now before we move onto the Day 50 submissions let's go over the rules again real quick.

The rules for Smash Factor are pretty simple-Characters you submit must be eligible for Smash-They have to be Video Game Franchises and the character has to have appeared in a Video Game (E.g. no Android 21 from DBZ Fighterz and none of the Sonic Comic characters who've never appeared in a game).

Tell us IN DETAIL why we should pick your character! Even if it's a character that you think speaks for themselves on why they should be added imagine these are the characters auditioning to Sakurai trying to persuade him to add them to the game, we want to see you build a case for your character on why they deserve to be in Smash 6 and convince us that your choice is the one that were should go with here and now. We will very likely ignore any submission that doesn't have any/good enough reasoning in their submission in favour of someone whose made more of an argument for their pick. If you've noticed that your pick hasn't been chosen by any of the judges maybe see if you can make a stronger case for them when you resubmit them? The difference could be what pushes us to decide to pick your submission over someone else's.

You get 2 submissions per day! Put them in 2 different comments and give a separate argument for each but you are allowed to submit 2 characters every day for the roster!

Me and the rest of the Judges can't make any submissions, all we can do is discuss and vote on the characters you've all picked-Though we may decide on a Theme for a day if we feel like the roster is in desperate need of something or we may choose to skip a day/ choose a character between ourselves if there's Slim Pickens when it comes to the characters that are submitted.
