Linz, Austria - how's life there

Linz, Austria - how's life there

I am 4+ years away from retirement. I've lived my entire adult life in the US, but raised in both Canada and USA. I am also a EU citizen (Ireland) through my grandparents. I will be 60 at retirement age.

Our daughter has fully emigrated to Germany and we are looking at being closer to her but Austria is more affordable than Baveria. I've been to Austria a few times and am going back in Nov and March to sort pregame house/apartment hunting. Oh, and Vienna is an option too but it seems really far from Munich and Insbruck is at the high end of what we could afford.

I've never been to Linz but all the searches keep telling me to check it out.

Like I said, I'll be 60, my pension will be in the 6 figures and I speak basic German. I'd love to hear from expats (American or Canadian).

Fox Sports is absolutely insufferable, I can't take it.

I'm watching USA v Turkey on Spanish TV because I can't deal with camera showing celebrities and broadcasters talking about, what, I have no idea.

San Marcos Animal Shelter TX - Milo, deadline June 23, 2026

Help, this beautiful boy is scheduled for euthanasia on June 23. He is a wonderful boy. We have spent dog day out with him. He is adventurous, curious and loves the water.
