hi all, hoping for some advice. first time travelling intercity…we booked the journey on one ticket via OBB, for munich airport to innsbruck hbf on the morning of 29 aug- we were meant to get the 6.43 s8 train from munich airport to munich east, then the rj1281 from munich east to innsbruck hbf.

Got an email regarding timetable changes today- the second train (the rj) remains thankfully as-is, but it's the s8 from munich airport to east that’s the problem. When we booked it was a direct train from airport to station. Now, the original s8 is still departing at 6.43 but the journey is now broken up- we have to get off at a different station and travel onward to munich east via a shuttle bus. the arrival time at munich east if we keep to this departure timing will therefore be delayed as a result so if we keep to it, we will miss our second train...

there is a much more straightforward s1 direct train to east that departs just 10 minutes earlier but apparently my ticket can’t be used for that according to the oebb app- it tells us that our ticket remains valid for the second part of the journey only. so we are at a loss as to how to rebook the first part!

i've gathered from the app and the OBB website FAQ that we can't rebook/cancel one leg of a journey independently.

- do we just cancel the whole journey and rebook the second leg again? its a peak hour train with seat reservations that we also have secured, so kinda hoping to avoid going this route. also we got standard tickets for flexibility, and the website says we can cancel up to 1 day before, but it also says we can't cancel the booking once we downloaded our ticket PDFs- which we obviously did, so some confusion there.

- i've emailed OBB about this via their web form (am not in europe and calling will be challenging....plus I speak no german) but- has anyone had any experience rebooking just a first leg of a multi-part journey that was booked onto one ticket due to timetabling changes?

-or could OBB cancel and refund just the first leg of the journey while preserving the second half?

In retrospect, shld have just booked the east > innsbruck and booked the s1/8 on the day of arrival :( But back when we booked it was tempting to avoid additional ticket logistics so soon after landing…

Hi everyone, hoping for some advice here.

Newish to hiking. But just did an entire solo trip dedicated to hiking around Berchtesgaden and the Dachstein region in end May and loved it. That was my first time really doing an entire trip dedicated to hiking so I stuck to day hikes (although some days were long, 20km+). The most spicy trails I did had short exposed segments with rope at the side to hold on to whilst walking (don't know if there is a proper term to describe this?) which was a little scary but doable.

I've got some leave in the last week of August-first week of September, and I was thinking of going to Stubai for some more hiking. I know the Stubai high trail is the area's highlight and one reason why Stubai appealed to me is because it looks very easy to do section hiking of the high trail- I don't think I'm ready for full blown hut to hut treks yet, but a 1-2 night sampler to get a taste of it seems ideal.

I've identified 2 sections of the Stubai high trail that I'd be interested to do:

1. Dresdner Hut - Sulzenau Hut (Would start by taking the chairlift to the Dresdner Hut, to shorten the hike): 1 day

2. Sulzenau Hut - Nürnberger Hut: 1 day

I would stay 1 night in the Sulzenau and Nürnberger Huts respectively and descend from the Nurnberger Hut into the valley the following day.

Question for all those who are familiar with this route. Is this doable? Is this overly ambitious for a solo female of reasonable fitness who is nonetheless at this point definitely not a hiking expert by any measure? I think I would draw the line at any scrambling or via ferrata.

Otherwise, all the accomms I've booked for the area (including the huts) are fully refundable this early on, and my flights are flexible. So it's not too late for me to totally scratch this whole Stubai plan and go back to the drawing board lol

well earlier this week i finally started working my way through the new album but accidentally downloaded the censored version on apple music. if you haven't heard it it totally cuts off at the word 'asshole' and there's like 5 seconds of silence before the song continues. if you click to view the lyrics on apple music, it's transcribed as 'turns out that you're just a -'

me being me, i actually thought this was an intentional choice on noah kahan's behalf like the dash had symbolism and we're supposed to fill in the blanks about what the narrative 'you' is supposed to be and that's why the song is called DASHboard. i thought the pause was ~artistry~ even though it's a little jarring to me whenever it cuts off. i also even was thinking, this song will be hella awkward to sing live??

i've just discovered the real lyrics (from some random fan cover on tiktok LOL) and just dying with amusement at myself for overthinking this to this extent. so it turns out that weird pause was weird because a bit of song was cut out HAHAHA. but also goes to show how much noah kahan is goated man, cuz i was just gonna credit him regardless.

wondering if i'm the only fool who made such a gaffe? literally had this on loop the whole week and didn't realise.
