I'm going to a wedding on Chicago that has a gift registry. Now I'm from NJ and I've always given a money gift tucked inside a wedding greeting card. I've never seen a gift registry for a wedding before. (Registries for bridal showers and engagement parties sure.)

If I pick a present from the registry and have it delivered directly to the couple, Do i still bring a greeting card to the wedding?

My bedroom floor is newly installed red oak. I have a wool 11 x 14 area rug that I want to put under the bed to protect the floor. The bed is very heavy so it shouldn't be shifting on the floor. Is carpet padding really needed? Previously the bed was directly on an old pergo floor and you could see marks on the floor where the bed sat.
