Flashing sign

I cannot figure out of the life of me why when it flashes, part of the other tube that is supposed to be off is dimly lit/flashing.

New Addition

Ol Marilyn here needs a new head and hair. Complex tube.

Yellow and white with different phosphors. Four colors. Also goes from big to small maybe 8mm to 6mm. All one tube.

Not sure where I am going to get a repair lol. Came from a local videogame store closing down.

Has been way up on the wall in the same spot for about 25 years. Consistently running.

I am stoked!

Moisture in tube?

This is a brand new tube, maybe a month and a half old?

What is this contamination in the tube? Will it shorten tube life?

TIA

I know there might be a few reasons, but im curious if any experts know the exact cause why the beer foam tube is dim at one end. Electrode connection, mercury migration? TIA
