Need Opinions: Cylinder 5 Misfire After Pull, Where Would You Start?

Hi everyone,
Yesterday evening, just before I got home, I decided to do one more full-throttle pull from 0 km/h in my R35 GT-R. During a gear change near redline, I immediately noticed when getting back on the throttle that the engine was no longer making full power. It felt like the car was not running on all cylinders.
I pulled over and tried restarting the car, but the problem remained. Since I was only about a kilometer from home, I drove back very gently.
Once home, I connected my diagnostic tool and found fault code P0305 – Cylinder 5 Misfire.
Based on your experience, what do you think is the most likely cause? Should I be worried about worst-case scenarios right away, such as a damaged piston, melted piston, etc., or are ignition coil and spark plug failures relatively common on the GT-R?
It was already late last night, so I didn't have time to investigate further. My plan this weekend is to start with the simple things: swap the ignition coil from cylinder 5 with another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the coil. If it doesn't, I'll replace or swap the spark plug next and continue diagnosing from there.
Has anyone experienced something similar with their R35? Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Does the Galaxy XR really have bad controller tracking compared to the Quest 3?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently considering buying the Galaxy XR, mainly for shooters and other games where accurate controller tracking is important.

However, I keep reading and hearing that the Galaxy XR's controller tracking is noticeably worse than the Quest 3's. In particular, people mention issues during fast movements, aiming, or when the controllers briefly leave the headset's field of view.

I'd love to hear from people who have actually used it:

  • Is the tracking really that much worse than on the Quest 3?
  • Does it have a noticeable impact in shooters like Contractors, Pavlov, or similar games?
  • Are there specific situations where the controllers struggle?
  • Would you still recommend the Galaxy XR for VR shooters, or would you go with the Quest 3 instead?

I'm especially interested in opinions from people who have used both headsets and can make a direct comparison.

Thanks in advance!

Quest 3 → Galaxy XR for PCVR shooters? Worth it with a 5090?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently using a Quest 3 with a BoboVR head strap and an additional battery pack, mainly for playing Forefront and other PCVR shooters.

My PC is equipped with an RTX 5090, so I can run Virtual Desktop in Godlike mode at 120 FPS without any issues. My total latency is usually around 30–35 ms, which feels very good to me.

Lately I've been considering upgrading to the Samsung Galaxy XR, but I'm struggling to determine whether the visual improvement would actually justify the significantly higher price.

I'm especially interested in hearing from people who have used a Quest 3 and then switched to the Galaxy XR:

  • How much better is the image quality in PCVR through Virtual Desktop?
  • Is the increase in clarity, sharpness, colors, contrast, and overall immersion immediately noticeable?
  • After using both headsets, would you say the Galaxy XR is worth the extra cost, or is the visual upgrade smaller than expected?
  • Do you feel the Galaxy XR significantly improves the PCVR experience compared to the Quest 3?

One of my biggest concerns is controller tracking. Since I mainly play competitive shooters, reliable tracking is extremely important to me.

  • Is the controller tracking as good as the Quest 3?
  • Any issues with aiming, fast movements, occlusion, or tracking loss in shooters?
  • Would you confidently recommend it for someone who spends a lot of time playing FPS games?

I'd really appreciate feedback from former Quest 3 owners, especially those using high-end PCs and Virtual Desktop.

Thanks! 😊

Looking for a Competitive VR Shooter With an Active Community

Hey everyone,

I've been having an absolute blast with Forefront lately, but one thing I feel is missing is a truly competitive scene.

Forefront is actually the game that brought me back to VR after a long break. It reminded me why I fell in love with VR gaming in the first place, and I've been enjoying it a lot. That said, I still have the urge to dive into something more competitive and potentially esports-oriented.

Back on PC, I was heavily into Counter-Strike. Most recently, I spent over 4,000 hours in CS2 and loved the competitive grind, improving my skills, climbing ranks, and being part of an active community. I'm now looking for a VR title that can give me a similar feeling—something I can really invest time into and keep coming back to for years.

So my questions are:

  • Which VR shooters currently have the most active player base?
  • Are there any games with a strong competitive or esports scene?
  • What VR game has that "just one more match" feeling for you?
  • Which titles would you recommend to someone coming from a competitive CS background?

I'd love to hear your experiences and recommendations.

SteamFrame vs Quest 3: What am I overlooking?

Hey, I don't want this to come across as negative or start any drama. I'm genuinely interested and curious.

A little background about me: I've been heavily into VR for a long time. Right now I have three Quest 3 headsets with different head straps, a Pimax Super with all modules (57 PPD, 50 PPD, Ultra-Wide, and OLED), Samsung XR, Quest 2, Quest 1, and a Valve Index.

I play VR almost every day, either in my sim rig with iRacing, in VTOL VR, or lately my favorite game, Forefront. In my sim rig I always use the Pimax, while for standing VR I use the Quest 3. Through Virtual Desktop in Godlike mode, paired with my RTX 5090, it delivers a rock-solid 120 FPS experience.

To this day, the Quest 3 is honestly still the king of VR for me, despite having a few weaknesses. Even though I own several other headsets, if I had to choose only one today, the Quest 3 would still be my number one pick. The overall package is just incredibly good.

Now to the actual reason for this post. I am going to buy the SteamFrame, no question about that. However, I honestly don't fully understand the hype around it right now.

For me, the only truly new feature is foveated streaming. And even that is something I can already use today with the Samsung XR through Virtual Desktop. The problem is that at higher resolutions the latency is around 60 ms, which is too high for my liking.

Other than that, a lot of the features I was hoping for seem to be missing entirely, which makes me think that the Quest 4 will probably be the next truly exciting headset for me.

What I personally would have loved to see:

  • A slightly higher resolution. It doesn't have to reach Pimax levels, since that obviously requires a lot more GPU power, but something above the Quest 3 would have been great.
  • OLED. For me, OLED would have been a must-have feature.
  • Lenses that are at least as good as the Quest 3. One of the things I love most about the Quest 3 is that it delivers a sharp image across almost the entire lens without having to hunt for a sweet spot. Compared to that, my Pimax is honestly a disaster.

At the end of the day, the SteamFrame currently looks to me like a Quest 3 with an integrated 6 GHz wireless dongle and foveated streaming.

Am I missing something?

And yes, I'll definitely buy one. I'd actually love to get swept up in the hype already, but right now I'm still waiting for that "wow" factor.
