Beginner Friendly Adult Rec Sports?

There have been a few similar posts to this but I feel some are outdated and maybe don’t apply to me.
I (33M) have been in Madison a bit but find myself where many of my friends have moved away for work or other reasons. I also find myself wanting to get off the couch, especially as the cold months begin to close in and solo outdoor activities become difficult. The problem is, I’m not very good at sports. In high school I was a solid mathlete and quiz bowl team member who generally was picked last in gym. What are some “free-agent” options for getting active that might be friendly to a beginner who might never be very good but who’s just looking to have a fun time? I have a pretty open mind but would prefer to meet people around my age.

Reliability?

MME gets some good reliability ratings from third parties like Consumer Reports, but I’ve been considering buying one and this page seems to have mostly people talking about things that are broken on their cars. Are there people on this page who have had good reliability and are willing to share?
