Hairline crack in panoramic sunroof. Anyone else experienced this?
Hi all. I’ve got a hairline crack in my sunroof on my 2023 that runs diagonally from the driver’s side to the opposite rear corner. There’s no visible point of impact & believe it happened spontaneously.
I’ve seen a few mentions of this occurring on other Mach-E’s, and I’m wondering how common it really is. Has anyone here dealt with this? If so, how did Ford handle it? Did they cover it under warranty, or am I going to have to roll up my sleeves? Not happy.
Joining the Herd!
Just picked up our ‘25 Premium Extended Range and I’m already in love! We upgraded (unwillingly but gratefully) from an Ioniq 5 after the battery got corrupted and we were quoted a 4-6 month wait for a replacement battery. It’s only been 24 hours but I can already say with some certainty it’s a more fun driving experience across the board. My only early gripe is the speedometer HUD which looks outdated next to the main display, but it’s a minuscule nit.
Charging Accessories
Does charging accessories impact range?
V2 MagSafe Charger/Tray
V2 of the Mach-E MagSafe charger/tray is almost ready and I’ve been making a bunch of improvements based on feedback and testing.
Highlights so far:
- Single and dual phone charger options are now available.
- The entire tray is now a single-piece print to simplify and streamline printing.
- Cable management underneath the tray can now store the full wire length, so there’s no more hanging cable mess.
- The phone stands are now pressure-fit into the tray (gluing is optional).
- Removed the TPU insert after noticing heat deformation issues over time inside the car.
- Updated the design to work with the Amazon Basics 25W MagSafe charger, which should theoretically improve charging speeds.
Pretty happy with how it’s turning out so far. If anyone has additional ideas or features they’d like to see, let me know, I’d be happy to consider them before I finalize the design.
Opening the frunk
Hello,
I own a 2021 Mach e. I really want to use the frunk, but pulling the lever on the driver side just doesn't seem right to me.
I tried opening the trunk with the door opening code and it didn't work. Also tried opening it from the virtual button on the tablet and had the same result.
Is this an option my car doesn't have or is the hood lock sistem broken?
Thank you.
@edit: I wrote FRUNK, but the auto correct typed "trunk". Sorry.
Lane changing blue cruise?
I don't think the Blue Cruise changes lanes for me when I use the signal. I have a 2023 premium.
Is it possible I'm not patient enough? I assumed it would change lanes after the blind spot alert on the mirror turns off? I live in a congested area so I don't think I'd use this much if it takes lots of space.
Possible to get a second key?
I'm looking at a used car that apparently has only one key still available. This is a small thing that shouldn't be a deal breaker, but my husband and I both carry keys to both of our cars, in case we need them for any reason.
I like the car but the lack of a second key is troubling me. Does anyone have insight on how difficult it would be to get a replacement key, or is that even possible?
TIA
How to get NACS adapter?
Out of stock on Ford website for both pickup and shipping. Is there a non-Ford brand you’d recommend? I’m hesitant to use an off brand part that hundreds of amps would pass through!
2025 Ford Mustang Mach-E audio randomly broke after sitting parked for 2 hours — startup chimes sound different too?
I have a 2025 Mustang Mach-E Premium AWD ER and I’m trying to figure out if this sounds software related or something more serious.
Car drove completely normal to the store and had zero issues. Sat parked for about 2 hours (not charging).
Came back and:
startup/power button chimes sounded higher pitched / different than normal
CarPlay connects but no audio
Bluetooth audio doesn’t work either
Radio opens but says “Audio Off”
Volume knob changes volume but I can’t change stations or use seek
Sound settings menu is grayed out
SYNC reboot (volume down + seek right on steering wheel) rebooted screen but didn’t fully fix it
Turn signal and parking sensor sounds still work (although parking beep sounds like a slightly different tone)
No warning lights, car drives completely normal otherwise.
Has anyone had this happen? Did it fix itself after sleep/reset or end up needing service?
First EV - 2023 MME Premium AWD Extended @ 32k
Looking at a 2023 Mach E Premium AWD Extended range for 32k OTD
37k miles
1 owner lease vehicle
Has glass roof
I’m wondering if this is a deal I should jump on as used don’t show up much in the upper midwest. I’ve been looking at the MME for several years now and am ready for a new vehicle.
Anything else to watch out for? Or would you recommend new?
As much as I love my 2021 Mach-e, I do feel like Ford made some bad decisionss
I got the 2021 Mach E Gt-performance edition (I bought a used one like a month ago.).
Overal it’s a really great car. But I’ll probably get disappointed if I ever move up to a newer model.
My car has got the auto park function for example, and I actually use that regularly for tight parking spots. As much as I hate to admit it, the car is simply faster with parking itself with less risk of user error.
And I actually like that sensor to open the trunk (where you can wave your feet underneath the vehicle.)
I don’t know if those are the only “old” functions which got removed by newer models. But it just feels really odd that you get less function with a newer model.
Another thing is the Magneride suspension. That’s the main reason why I went for the GT performance version. Ford really should include the Magneride on all of their models because the regular suspension is just way too stiff. I hate how a decent working suspension system is optional.
And the Bluecruise driving. I haven’t tried it out because I don’t want to spend that much every month for the limited time and distance I’m driving. I have heard and read about how great it actually works (on supported roads). But Ford should really add that function for free without an expensive monthly subscription. Or at the very very least, make it cheaper. That could maybe increase the sales of the Mach-E.
Charger Ford installs
I got my 26 MachE yesterday. They said I’ll be contacted for the free charger install. Can any of you tell me…
- Do they bring a charger and install it?
- Is it the 48A charger setup?
I haven’t actually opened my charging cable pack yet, so I don’t know if this is something I have and they are just going to install it.
Heater not heating
I might have missed a setting, but my 2021 Mach E (new to me) doesn’t seem to blow hot air when the heater is on.
I can’t seem to remedy this. Is there some setting im missing?
Advice to find an electrician for install.
My initial home charger installation from Ford went super smooth and was easy. Now, I want to install a charger at a new location. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to find an electrician for the insulation? For me, it’s 4 hours away so I can’t go back to my original installer. Thoughts?
Leaking motor
Anyone have their front motor replaced? Brought the 2021 in for a noise when rolling and they say the motor is leaking cooling fluid. Needs replacement of the whole thing. 6-8 hours of labor. Under EV component warranty
Dealer said they did three already including a 2024.
Mach-E 2026 in canada : What's your real autonomy? In the winter?
Mach-E in canada : What's your real autonomy?
I'm wondering if in winter i'll still be able to do 300km.
It says 488 for extended range, but what's the loss. What's your experience?
Best used electric for price?
I have a 24 mustang and love it, but really haven't found a good option to carry my paddle boards, would love to get another 24 used with about 25,000 miles or so but they are priced close to what I paid new.
My old car is a 2014 mini countryman and is costing me more per year in maintenance than monthly car payments. (Blew a valve, thermostat)
I need something as my wife is now driving the Mustang and I have no use for hybrids or IE cars.
But as we have a 2020 mini convertible with low miles, (-25,000)that is just too small for me I can't see or really afford getting yet another new car.
If you have shopped around for cars before you got your Mustang, really the best car out there minus roof racks that aren't jenky, What do you think is the best used electric bang for buck, is?
