PNW Meet Up @ Hood River

We had a total of 12 vehicles including 3 Lightnings. The unique thing in this meet up we didn't have any two vehicles in the same color. It was awesome to see all the diversity in colors and customizations... talking about you Steve 😀

It turned out to be a great day! It was a bit windy (so we didn't set up a canopy and such). We had folks travel from Lakewood, Aberdeen, Snohomish, Yakima, Posser, and Richland Washington. We also had a people joining us from Portland and the surrounding areas! A number of us were in this area for the first time... some great scenery and gorgeous drives!!

We later drove about 20 miles to the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center for lunch and exploration of trails and a gorgeous museum there!! Great fun was had by all... enjoy the pics from this event!!

If you're in the PNW, join the PNW Electric Truck Club - Ford EV Clubs. We will be discussing the next events there, chatting about options and EV'ing in the PNW!!

⚡ PNW Mach‑E Club — August 15th Meetup @ Hood River Waterfront Park

Hey everyone! We’re trotting out to Hood River Waterfront Park on August 15th for a summer EV hangout. Expect a relaxed riverside lineup, great photo ops, and plenty of time to connect with other Mach‑E owners.

Convoy options from Portland will be posted soon. Bring your frunk snacks, your mods, and your best summer energy — this one’s going to be gorgeous.

If you need details on the spot, check out Hood River Waterfront Park. Put it on your calendar! See you on the 15th! ⚡🌄

If you're in the area, we'll be doing final planning and figuring out if some of us would like to drive together (we're coming from the North on I-5 and East on I-84 to get there). You can follow the planning and the conversation @ PNW Mach-E Club - Ford EV Clubs!!

Change of Plans in the PNW: Demo Days Drop Portland from Calendar

Bad News: We were planning a Cars and Coffee and day at Demo Days for our next event. But, since Demo Days / Electrify Expo no longer appears to be on the July Portland calendar. In the final stages of our planning, we learned that the date was dropped and any pre-sold tickets have ben refunded.

Good News; We're still planning on doing a meet up in/or around Northern Oregon meetup in August—likely someplace in or near Portland. Based on some research, these three options all look like awesome possibilities:

  • Hood River Waterfront Park — scenic Gorge drive, riverfront views, room to gather, and a great cruise destination
  • Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) — central Portland location, easy meetup spot, riverfront setting, and convenient for photos/food nearby
  • Sauvie Island — great for cruising/driving, but each car would need a $10 parking permit

If you're in the PNW, go to PNW Mach-E Club - Ford EV Clubs to vote for your favorite optoin or drop another viable option in the comments. Let’s get our ponies together in August and take them out for a run! 🐎⚡

New IONNA Chargery - Mt Vernon, WA

If you're in the PNW... there is a new, and super convenient, IONNA chargery just off of I-5 Exit 226 (Kinkaid Street), in Mt Vernon. This is Kermie soaking up some IONNA electrons over the weekend. It shares a parking lot with Wendy's (e.g. snacks and clean bathrooms) and is across the street from a 7-Eleven.

Normally, the IONNA rates are better than either Tesla or EA (even with an account), and over the holiday weekend it was $0.20 / KWh.

IONNA Mount Vernon, WA Rechargery Relay - S 5th St. | Mount Vernon, WA | EV Station

And, if you haven't joined the PNW Mach-E Club - Ford EV Clubs, feel free to do so... we're planning some cook events throughout the summer and fall!!

PNW - Great Time in Yakima!!

The weather was perfect! We had a Lightning on the line-up with us, met great people, and recruited two new club members... best to get them started young🤣.

We then drove about 24 miles to Canyon River Grill for lunch! AMAZING drive and the eatery was equally AMAZING! I have some great footage on the dash came and will have a vid in a few days!!

And if you're in the PNW you can join the fun on our little adventures and meet some great people!! - PNW Mach-E Club - Ford EV Clubs

18 months later - Still Turning around for Photo Ops

Early in the morning, someplace in the PNW. Kermie needs a bath, but is still purdy enough for a picture. Love getting to nearly empty parking lot and choosing a spot that won't have a neighbor on one of the sides, so that I can favor that side and give more space to the neighbor on the other side. Yes, I know... I'm being a bit neurotic about door dings... all I can tell you is that I've been called worse 😜

'59 MGA 1500 - Out for a Run!!

Many folks know that I'm into EVs and electrification... that does not take away from my pure joy of driving this '59 MGA. It's close to being fully restored (90%+), has a mind bending 73 bhp engine, no power steering, no power breaks, not a single computer chip... and just loves to unwind curves on country roads!!! If one is going to burn gassoline... this is the way to do it!! Just look at the silly grin on the face of the dude driving it ;).

PNW Meet Up Drive - Canyon Road Drive - June 27th

Folks! Had an opportunity to go to eastern Washington a week ogo or so ago, and drove Hwy 821 (Canyon Drive) from Yakima to Ellensburg! AMAZING drive and scenery. It's about 28 miles of most scenic driving along Yakima River and cutting through a canyon. I can only imagine having a bunch of Mach E's and Lightning's driving together down those curves.

Here's a quick video with an introduction to a new family member, me wearing a wet t-shirt (obvious click bait :-)), and some dash cam footage of driving North on Canyon Road.

Would love to have ya'll join us on June 27th up there!! Drop a comment to let us know if you'll be there, or not. Also drop a comment about PNW Vibes Video... feedback and new ideas are always welcome!!
