We'll be meeting at 11:00 am at an IONNA Relay Recharchery. Our friends @ IONNA are setting up a special meet up rate just for our meet up on Oct 17th. After we soak up some IONNA electrons, catch up, share our experiences, and meet new friends who are joining us for the first time... we'll cruise to Mukilteo Landing to enjoy the amazing scenery and have lunch at IVAR's, a PNW original!!

Interesting new EV battery longevity study from Aviloo analyzed 500,000 battery health tests across 20 EV models worldwide. The good news is that nearly all modern EVs are aging extremely well, with most still retaining 90%+ of their original battery capacity after about 93,000 miles.

For Mach-E owners, the Mustang Mach-E was one of the stronger performers in the study, showing 93.45% median battery health at 100,000 km (62,000 miles), placing it among the better-performing EVs tested.

One surprise: while Tesla Model 3 and Model Y performed well, they weren't the leaders. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 topped the rankings, and several other EVs outperformed Tesla in battery retention.

Bottom line: this is more evidence that modern EV batteries, including those in our Mach-Es, are holding up remarkably well over the long haul.

We left the poll open on our PWN Mach E Channel (and PWN Electric Truck Channel) for 2 weeks to get more participation in the voting across both the PNW Ford EV clubs!! The overall result is 13 votes for a meet up @ IONNA in Everett with a drive to the waterfront for views, pics, and lunch!! The 2nd most voted option was Tacoma and a drive across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge to Gig Harbor (I think this will be our next one 😍). Both are legitimately GREAT choices and we're likely to do the Tacoma Narrows Drive next!!

Save the date for Oct 17th for the meet up and more information will be coming shortly, as I need to make some arrangements for lunch and a few more logistical items!!

This year the PNW Ford Electric Club (with the Mach E club) had meet ups in Yakima, Hood River, Vancouver, and Bellingham. As we head into the fall we're planning to stay closer to the greater Seattle area. We've done some scouting and are proposing four potential meet up locations ranging from Everett to Tacoma!! All of them will have a meet up at a DCFC and 20- or 30-minute drive to a scenic location for lunch!!

It turned out to be a great day! It was a bit windy (so we didn't set up a canopy and such). We had folks travel from Lakewood, Aberdeen, Snohomish, Yakima, Posser, and Richland Washington. We also had a people joining us from Portland and the surrounding areas! A number of us were in this area for the first time... some great scenery and gorgeous drives!!

We later drove about 20 miles to the Columbia Gorge Discovery Center for lunch and exploration of trails and a gorgeous museum there!! Great fun was had by all... enjoy the pics from this event!!

For those of us coming from far away it will be a welcome opportunity to soak up some electrons, rest, catch up, share experiences, and just plan have a good time. After we will mount up and take an 18-mile drive, east on I-84 to the Columbia Gorge Discovery Cetner. It's a gorgeous drive along the Columbia River and a beautiful place to line up, take pictures... and have lunch @ Basalt Rock Cafe.

As is always the case, the Lightning owners are always invited and help us turn this into a Ford EV event!! It shares a parking lot with Wendy's (e.g. snacks and clean bathrooms) and is across the street from a 7-Eleven.

Normally, the IONNA rates are better than either Tesla or EA (even with an account), and over the holiday weekend it was $0.20 / KWh.
