In the market - trying to choose a trim

My partner is starting a new job soon that involves her commuting to an office 20 miles away one day per week, and driving around our local market the other 4 days per week. She currently drives a 2020 Golf GTI she bought new, and has always had sportier cars. Her GTI is now out of warranty and starting to show its age. I would like her to buy something she enjoys every day while also having a full warranty and excellent fuel/energy economy. Our son is also going to be 8 this year and really getting interested in sports etc… she is going to need a bit more space soon.

We are looking at EVs and I think she is mostly settled on the Mach-E. She eliminated the Toyota BZ and C-HR on test drives. She doesn’t like the looks of the Hyundai and Kia offerings. Tesla is right out. We haven’t tested the Polestar, Lexus, Audi, or Cadillac options yet, but they are getting up there in price and the added luxury doesn’t resonate with her all that much. I’m also 6’7” and while it will be her daily, I need to fit. The GTI is okay for me as a passenger and occasional driver, but far from comfortable. The Mach-E actually fits me pretty great. So unless we find another contender I think it’s going to be a Mach-E.

We have test driven a Mach-E Premuim trim and a GT. I put both of them through some slightly spirited driving (I have had a lot of Mustangs, and an F-Type R, and have a bit of track experience). We both came away with similar impressions - the GT is definitely more powerful, but the Premium is no slouch. Handling was honestly very similar between the two. I know the GT has Magneride, but as much as I tried to give it a chance to shine… it really didn’t seem very apparent to either of us. AWD isn’t super useful where we live, where we realistically only deal with ice and snow 2-3 weeks out of a given year.

Premium with Sport Appearance package and the 88 kWh battery seems to be the right choice. She loves the way it looks, drives, and feels to ride in. My assumption is that she would only be giving up a bit of acceleration and AWD. I was hoping the handling upgrade would justify the bump to GT, but just couldn’t find the value during the test drives, even on the rough patches of road or hard cornering I put them through.

So - what are we missing? Is there anything less obvious about the GT that would help justify the extra spend? Do resale value and insurance cost factor in significantly? Anything else we should know?

Do you guys consider the Mach-E a mustang?

Me? Not really since it isnt a muscle car or really sport car like mustangs are or used to be. I feel like the logo and name was just used to market a new EV SUV. Now thats my opinion and you'll probably not like it but i would like to hear yours

Warped disks... again

Hi guys,

I have a 23 AWD with 40k on it. 8 months ago I noticed a tremble on the steering wheel when I pushed the brakes at around 100km/h.I went to the dealer and they changed disks and pads - the disks were warped. After 2 months the same. They changed the whole breaking controller (breaks+ABS+etc). Everything on warranty.

Now it happened again.

Has anyone noticed this? I am out of warranty and I cannot imagine what more must be checked or changed.

The frustration has built up to far with my order

Guys I'm torn, On April 18th I ordered a GT from my dealership here in Canada. The car has been fully built Since May 21st and is sitting at the factory in the compound in Mexico since. There is some sort of hold on it/them however there is no ship date in sight. My dealership has no idea what is going on Ford Canada could not tell me either. I love the car but don't want to wait much longer. The car it's replacing is in need of service and I don't want to spend the money on it it's not worth it for me. The mear fact that Ford is keeping tight lipped about this with 0 transparency is making this experience not a good one. Has anyone been in this situation? I'm considering going to the dealer tomorrow and canceling. Love the car but if they had told me they have no clue when it would be here I wouldn't of put money down to order. Anyone have any insight on this?

Unplugged?

I plugged in my Ford charger last night. The app says it's at 71% and unplugged. This morning I checked the app again and it still says 71% and unplugged. I turned on the car and the display reads 89% and charging. I have tried restarting my phone, clearing the cache and clearing the app many times but nothing seems to reset the app.

Has anyone else had this experience and how did you fix it? The car is a 2026

About to pull the trigger - last minute comments?

Anything I need to know? I’m unable to charge my Mach E from home but I live in the Washington DC area so chargers are aplenty. I’m also newly expecting, so hoping to hear from other parents who have car seats in Mach Es. Is there ANY thing else I should know before I buy tomorrow? Are the finance options good?

2025 Used with 7000 miles only. Buying with a $9000 valued trade-in.

Thank you in advance!

Changing the sound of my MME’s Back Up Beeper

Has anyone been successful in changing the sound of the backup beeper?

Like being able to eliminate the “Beep” without loosing the pedestrian warning sound.

Dealership Decals

What’s the best and safest way to get these decals off?

I was thinking goof off, but don’t know how that would be on the paint.

Need recommendations for a good Ford Service Dept

Hoping someone can recommend a good Ford Service Department in the Portland metro area. It looks like I may need a new windshield (it would be covered by my warranty). I prefer not to go to Courtesy in Portland; hoping to get some suggestions if anyone has had good experiences somewhere else. Thanks!

Am I doing something wrong

I have had a 2025 Mach E GTPE about 2 months. I have a 40 amp home charger. Wife drives it about 16 miles to work then back home. Usually charge from 73% to 90% each night. Our power bill went up $176 from last month. Checked last year at the same time and it almost doubled. I read all these post about people saving all this money with EV. Some say their electric bill didn’t even go up. We have went from super loving the car to now regretting our purchase. Any ideas?

Should I or shouldn’t I , the first two are my car, the third is what I’m considering !

I admit to being a little (ok a lot horse crazy), would this be insane to do?

18 months later - Still Turning around for Photo Ops

Early in the morning, someplace in the PNW. Kermie needs a bath, but is still purdy enough for a picture. Love getting to nearly empty parking lot and choosing a spot that won't have a neighbor on one of the sides, so that I can favor that side and give more space to the neighbor on the other side. Yes, I know... I'm being a bit neurotic about door dings... all I can tell you is that I've been called worse 😜

PNW - Great Time in Yakima!!

The weather was perfect! We had a Lightning on the line-up with us, met great people, and recruited two new club members... best to get them started young🤣.

We then drove about 24 miles to Canyon River Grill for lunch! AMAZING drive and the eatery was equally AMAZING! I have some great footage on the dash came and will have a vid in a few days!!

And if you're in the PNW you can join the fun on our little adventures and meet some great people!! - PNW Mach-E Club - Ford EV Clubs

I want to keep my Mach E!

I’m currently leasing the 2025 Mach E. I loooove my car and got it back in September of 2025. With a lease comes mileage restraints which my app shows that I’m on track to surpass by at least 10k miles. The estimated cost is $2k if I turn it back in or I can keep it. I heard that the dealer will sometimes waive the fee if you trade iy in for another lease. At the moment I don’t want anything else tbh. I like having an electric vehicle and like the luxury feel. Unless Ford comes out with something similar between now and then, I don’t want to trade. My only setback is the monthly cost. I got a hell of a deal with rebates right before they expired. I pay just under $300 a month. What kind of increase should I expect if I do decide to keep my car?

Tesla monthly charging subscription

We have better luck with Tesla chargers since many of them are at Sheetz gas stations. If we subscribe to Tesla network can we still plug right in to pay, like with blue oval?

Can you buy a month and immediately cancel renewal (pay only when needed)?

Hmmm. Which of My Chargers Should I Use Today

Decisions decisions.
Do y’all think we will ever see grades of charging like we do with gas? ;-)

u/DaveTN — 11 days ago

Well

I'm ok. Just wanted to see if anyone needs the adapter. Looks like I'm going to leave the herd and jump into an audi q4 etron. I'm an Uber driver and Uber in their Infinite wisdom has decided that our ponies no longer qualify for premier rides. As we all know the mustang is a fast superior car.

As an aside I bought my 2023 select last march out 31,000 miles on it hoping to get back what I paid for it. Once it took the depreciation loss off the lot they have maintained value

First Mach E. Is this a fair OTD price ?

Sales price: $22,777
“Reconditioning fee”: 2451
Doc: 1199
Tag: $389
License: $450

OTD Price: $27,266

Manager won’t budge on reconditioning fee but they are giving me $2k more for my trade in then anywhere else

Car specs:
50k miles
2022
clean title
Premium trim
No accidents
One owner

Thoughts?
