Honestly, besides the financial aspect, I really don’t see any valid reason anymore.

Look at AC EVO and Kunos. They initially went one way, then listened to the community and allowed self-hosted servers.

And guess what? It works perfectly fine.
I currently run 10 AC Evo servers without any issue.

I know the mentality is not exactly the same between communities. On AC Evo there seems to be a bit more respect between drivers overall. At least on my servers, races stay clean and enjoyable most of the time.

But on LMU, renting a server costs around €0.30 per hour. That’s €7.20 per day. More than €200 per month for a single server.
That’s honestly huge.

At some point, communities should be able to build and manage their own ecosystems instead of everything being locked behind paid hosting solutions.

Just to be clear, I’m not trying to start drama or attack anyone. I’m genuinely trying to understand why self-hosting is not possible on Le Mans Ultimate besides the financial aspect, and I’m also curious to hear what the community thinks about it :)

We’ve just deployed 10 new servers based in France for the community:

• Practice servers
• Race Weekend server
• Private server

All servers have been updated to the latest game version, and we really hope the recent issues/bugs are finally behind us. 🤞

A few details about the setup:

• Servers are restarted every morning to run in daytime sessions

To find them easily, simply search for “Hexagon” (or just Hexa) in the server browser.

We also have a Discord community with a dedicated reporting channel, and English reports are fully accepted there. Discord link

We’re trying to build clean, active, and enjoyable racing sessions for everyone, from casual drivers to more competitive racers.
