Potty regressions in 6.5 YO

I would love to hear any insights from folks who have been through / experiencing this.

My 6.5 year old is ADHD level 1 autistic. He’s at the end of his kindergarten year and has been doing well with an IEP and an aid.

However, we’ve started seeing pee accident daily and sometimes multiple times a day. They happen more in unstructured time. He insists he doesn’t have to go, then waits to long and pees his pants. Then he doesn’t notice or doesn’t want to stop what he’s doing and stays in his wet pants.

It’s concerning. And it’s happening in after care, in social environments, in the car, and at home. We sometimes set potty timers at home. We talk daily about checking in on his body. He has started getting very angry and screaming that he doesn’t have to go, but then shortly has an accident.

He has a therapist who has just left the practice, so we need to find another support person to talk to/help.

Is this a regression? Will it just continue like this? Is there a way to help him?

My biggest concerns are social stigmatization and potential yeast or other infections due to staying in his wet underwear.

Anyone have thoughts?

Holy hell the taxol hit

I’m on recovery day 4 of my first round and was not expecting to be in so much discomfort.

This is just a vent. And a little bit of feeling my own feelings. My whole body hurts. My scalp is sensitive. My leg is cramping. My chest hurts. I’ve been walking miles everyday and today I couldn’t get down the block. I thought the ACT regimen was supposed to be like a baby dose of chemo. This is gonna be 12 sucky weeks.

That’s all.

Hey all. Starting adjuvant taxol + herceptin on Friday. I’ve read a lot about what to expect, and have some orders coming, but would love to hear from you. Do I have any over-preparers? What did you learn as your therapy continued?

Also, I’ve been an emotional wreck because I’m so overwhelmed. So humor and whimsy are welcome.

Thanks all.

I fully recognize that this is a first world problem. Starting 12 rounds of taxol next week and have been offered cold capping at my infusion center.

I was going to go for it, but the nurse advised me that it can cause headaches and trigger migraines. I’ve started perimenopause and have hormonal migraines ~12-15 days a month depending on my cycle. On top of that there are a lot of limitations (eg washing hair 1-2 times a week max in cold water, no products, styling, ponytails, no heat at all on your scalp, etc). It seems like a lot of restrictions at a time when I’m already going to feel shitty.

My hair is chin-lengthish and I’ve had a buzz cut before. So I’ve been wondering, should I just let the hair go?

I’m mid-40s and work in a high-visibility, cameras on, professional setting. The hair loss will be noticeable and my clients and team don’t know I’m undergoing chemo.
