2 month naps

My baby just turned 2 months old and I’m trying to figure out if his sleep is normal or if I should start changing things.

At night he actually sleeps pretty well. Lately he’ll sleep around 9:30/10 PM until about 3–4AM. But after that first wake, he wakes up every hour or so and mostly just comfort nurses/snacks back to sleep.

The bigger issue is daytime naps.

he’ll only take random 20–30 minute naps all day and then finally crash hard around 5 PM and sleep deeply for hours. I’m wondering if that’s actually becoming his “first stretch” of nighttime sleep.

- Is this normal for 2 months?
- Did your baby suddenly become terrible at naps around this age?
- Should I start being more structured with wake windows/routines now or wait until 3–4 months?
- Should I treat the 5 PM crash like bedtime or try to prevent it? I tried waking him up after 2 hours of sleep so around 7:30pm and he was crankyyyyyy and went back to sleep
Would love advice from moms who’ve been through this stage because I feel like I spend all day trying to get this baby to nap and when he naps it’s basically bedtime sleep 😭

Sad

Two months postpartum in my Oura ring does not fit and I had no idea about initially getting the size of your index finger so you can move them around when your fingers are different sizes. I would’ve loved to see postpartum data. Just wanted to vent.
