Recommendations for after hiking activities

Wife and I are staying at a bnb in/ near Stanley come late September, about 5 days total, plan to do the must hikes and most popular trails but not sure what to do with our time afterward each day. Any must check out spots for after a hard day of hiking ? We are partial to any local restaurants or cozy eateries/chill bars and breweries although we would prefer ones w/ NA options these days. Out of the surrounding towns, anything to check out in the evening or night would be appreciated!

Do I just not like the field ?

Going on 3 years, I know I haven’t been around long enough to feel like a veteran OT. Last year relocated to an outpatient adult neuro setting in hospital. Was school based peds before. I have family with disabilities related to both settings so I thought it would be very motivating to work with both populations. I just am not liking it lately, feeling very hollow and drained. There have been bright spots but the concerning part is I that my QoL just feels like it’s tanking. Am I making sense or is this a typical “newbie” type feeling ? My move is likely influencing my stress but without that, I question whether I want to do this long term. The urge to go home and do something else is really taking over my thoughts lately.

When do you feel comfortable with your new move ?

Moved from NY to VA (NOVA)last year. I work in healthcare and found a setting for work I am really passionate about. It’s definitely had its up and downs with adjusting to my new life here. I have much satisfaction at work but am prone to feeling burnt out since I have virtually nothing going on socially. Wife and dogs are amazing but I am used to having a large network of friends and family nearby for frequent socialization and family events going on. I jump from wondering if this was the right choice for me a lot with the feeling of isolation and discomfort being in a place without familiarity. For anyone who felt that way at some point, how did you handle it ? How long did it take you to feel comfortable with your decision? Did you move back and for what reasons ?
