After watching Obsession sometime ago and being blown away by the unique concept and the overall movie. I’ve thought about what a sequel to Obsession could look like and this is the direction I’d love to see.

After the events of the first film, Nikki is arrested for the deaths that occurred. She tries to explain everything that happened, including the One Wish Willow and what it was like to completely lose control while that other version of herself took over. Naturally no one believes her. After months of evaluations, interviews, and psychiatric examinations. She’s ultimately found not criminally responsible by reason of insanity and transferred to a maximum security psychiatric hospital.

From there the film that I have in mind becomes much more of a psychological horror than a supernatural one.

The focus isn’t on ghosts, demons, or jump scares (a few jump scares if anything). The One Wish Willow was already the supernatural element. This story would instead explore the lasting psychological damage it left behind. Nikki is trying to rebuild her life while constantly questioning her own reality, wondering if she’s finally free or if some part of the wish still lingers.

Inside the hospital, she’d meet patients with tragic stories of their own, staff who range from compassionate to unsettling, and slowly begin adapting to life within the institution. The audience would experience everything from Nikki’s perspective, never fully knowing what’s real and what’s being distorted by trauma, grief, and guilt.

I’d want the film to lean heavily into suspense. I watched The Backrooms movie yesterday so I’d include elements from that film from quiet hallways, lingering shots, uneasy conversations, etc. The kind of psychological tension that makes you feel uneasy and question every interaction without relying on overt paranormal events. Because once again it’s not a supernatural movie,

And just to put it out there I’m merely a beginner when it comes to script writing and what I wrote so far is only part of the first draft. It still needs a lot of smoothing out and editing to say the least.

Finally, Obsession 2 is just a placeholder title for this idea. I don’t actually think that should be the official name if a sequel were ever made. I know whatever Curry decides on, I am 100% certain it’ll be an incredible watch!
