Can you give me advice on my marriage?
My husband has lied to me and hidden things from me over the course of our 10 year marriage. He is remorseful and filled with shame about it.
We go through seasons of good and seasons of not so good (emotional intimacy lacking, frustration from my end of him slacking on housework, etc.)
Our communication has always struggled and he has always had a difficult time offering me emotional intimacy because of his upbringing and how terrible his parents were.
But 10 years in, after the same convos, I’m just tired. And I’m more cautious now - even after he is doing everything right - because I don’t want to just get caught up in the cycle of being hopeful that things are different.
I’m the breadwinner and also in charge of our schedules (us and the kids), and feel like I’m the one leading the entire marriage.
I see his effort and it’s definitely better than it was at the beginning - I just don’t know if it’s enough.
