We’re in Sierra Madre, California and wondering what this crazy hard fungus is. We’ve noticed a ton pop up in the neighborhood and in the burn areas of Altadena and Pasadena from the Eaton fire 18 months ago. Any help is appreciated!

These are popping up all over the neighborhood. Super hard to pull up or even cut. Also all over the burn areas in Altadena, does anyone know what this sucker is? They get massive too! We’re in Sierra Madre, California - next to Pasadena.
