We removed discount popups and cookie consent took over (now our data is dead).

We run a more premium brand, so we stopped using discount popups to grow our list.

Felt like the right move, cleaner UX, better positioning. But now the only ‘popup’ people see is the cookie banner, and most just hit decline and move on.

Since then way fewer people enter flows, barely any new profiles get created and returning visitors don't get recognized. Traffic didn't drop, but our ability to do anything with it did.

Didn't expect a UX decision like this to mess with revenue this much.

How to track website visitors and build your list without pop ups discounts?

Running a shopify store here and those popup discount things feel so cheap, like every time someone lands they get hit with 10% off or gtfo. Makes us look desperate and my list growth is trash anyway, half unsubscribe right after.

Been digging into stuff like visitor identification for ecommerce or cart abandon detection platforms, but not sure what works without another subscription nightmare. Tried turning off shop pay once cause of weird customer data mixups at checkout like in that one post, customers pissed seeing wrong emails.

What do you use for high accuracy visitor tracking or B2C data enrichment to build a real list? Klaviyo flows helped a bit but need to know whos on my site first.

Anyone got tools that actually recover lost shoppers without the sleazy discount bs?

I need to vent. We run a Shopify store and have been struggling to grow our Klaviyo lists because engagement from browsing visitors is horrible. Low form volume and no visitor identification, so we signed up for a B2C identity resolution platform to track unknown shoppers and grow our lists. The plan was to set up browse abandonment flows to target non converting visitors with personalized emails.

I tested everything with dummy data first, then went live with real traffic, using this high accuracy visitor tracking software integrated via GTM. Everything seemed fine, but when I enabled the live flow, I accidentally forgot to pause the test flow. The result? My entire 45k enriched browsing list got spammed with a test email that had a fake 99% discount code.

Orders flooded in with the wrong discount, Shopify crashed, Klaviyo bill spiked, and customers were emailing us thinking we were scammers. Shopify support had to manually disable the code, and we lost trust from a lot of high intent abandoners.

I have been trying out CRM tools and looking at Elevar alternatives for better visitor identification, but the damage is done. Klaviyo says it was user error on the segment filter, but how do you test browse abandonment flows at scale without this happening?

Hey guys,

I have been running into an issue where Klaviyo isn't catching every visit on our site, and its throwing off our email flows, especially for cart abandonment. Its frustrating because we know were missing out on recovering a lot of sales.

I have tried adjusting the tracking, but there are still some pages and sessions that aren't being tracked properly. I am thinking about using a visitor identification tool to plug the gap. Tie seems like it could be a good solution since it tracks all visitors, even those who don't fill out forms, and syncs that data directly to your CRM. Like it would let us send more personalized emails and SMS.

I have also looked into Revenue Roll, which does something similar, but not sure how it compares in terms of ease of use and integration.

Has anyone used both of them and can you tell me which one would help me more with this problem?

Running a Shopify store and my loyal customers keep getting these generic emails instead of the targeted ones they should see. Pretty sure its because Klaviyo isn't catching their visits properly.

Like they come back to the site, browse stuff, maybe abandon a cart, but nothing triggers the right flows. Our repeat buyers end up with irrelevant promos while new people get the good recovery emails.

I have tried adjusting segments and tweaking the setup, but its still not working right. Whats working for website visitor identification in ecommerce or high accuracy visitor tracking software? Looking at B2C identity resolution platforms or Revenue Roll alternatives for better B2C data enrichment and cart abandon detection.

How do you track shoppers abandoning cart and identify shoppers who didn't convert? Need to recover lost ecommerce shoppers and grow cart abandonment email lists without this mess.
