What is the difference between franchise dealerships and other dealerships when buying a used car?

Howzit

As the title states - looking to buy a used car and want to understand if there are advantages to buying a 2nd hand car from a franchise as opposed to other used car dealerships? Also does it matter if you buy a used car from a franchise dealership of the same brand?

Asking because I was about to buy a car from Weelee, but had a View4You report that found an accident that was never disclosed by the salesperson so now I am trying to find out if it's worth sticking with franchise dealerships

Thanks!

PPI for a Suzuki Swift Sport in JHB North

Hi all!

I am looking to purchase a Swift Sport from Weelee and looking for a trustworthy PPI provider

It's still under warranty, has a platinum Weelee rating (whatever that means)

Could you please suggest where I could take it for a PPI? I was thinking of taking it to a Suzuki service center but keen to hear if you have a different idea

Thanks!

Abarth 500, Swift Sport, or Miata

Currently in the market for a new car (first car purchase)

I don't have kids, work hybrid with a 20m commute and looking for something fun to drive

I test drove all 3 cars and like them all

I drove a couple of Abarths and really like the drive and the soft-top but worried about reliability and cost of ownership. Looking at 2020+ models ideally with a softtop

The Swift Sport is fun to drive, reliable, but feels a bit boring compared to the other 2. Would be looking at 2024+ with less than 30k

The miata, is a miata. But it has been discontinued in South Africa and dealers have been jacking up prices of used ones. Still within my budget but prices are being manipulated which makes it feel like a ripoff. Looking at NC3/ND1, manual.

The Abarth would be slightly cheaper, a 2025+ Swift or an NC3/ND1 would be nearly the same price

Currently tending towards the Abarth but finding it hard to decide

Keen to hear your thoughts, thanks!
