I am planning to buy a relatively pricey Diver.

My use is not soft, i will wear it on beaches, to swim, in rains etc. buttt i need it the next day in office or parties.

Should i go budget (prospex) and buy a ~50k piece that will majorly serve all my purpose but not look that expensive giving me option to replace in case things go south. Maybe replace every 3 years.

Or

Buy a expensive piece (Oris/Longines) ~2lk, as logically they should be more robust and last me 10+ years.

Dad upgraded to Slavia majorly as he wanted an Automatic.

Dealer didnt offer good price.

I bought his old baby off him instead as my first car.

Just wanted to appreciate my little daily wear here among fellow enthusiasts.

This is my Invicta Openheart (Seiko NH38A), got it from a friend from the USA, costed me arnd Rs 9k ($90).

In the last 2 years she has been with me in... Office, parties/marriages, scuba diving in thailand, snow fights in himachal, motorcyle rides across maharashtra, countless monsoon treks, swimming sessions in pool............ and she didnt miss a single beat or has required any care whatsoever.

Being absolutely newbie when ordering her (this is my first watch) purchased with the thought that I will upgrade to something new and expensive in a couple of years.

But looks like won't be happening soon.🤣
