Anyone managed to get a government dental clinic appointment in Kuching?

So here's the thing: I remember I could walk into any government dental clinic during my schooling years, but now it's all appointment-based. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I called the Batu Kawa dental clinic, and they mentioned all appointments must be done through the mysejahtera app. I tried securing an appointment since last month but to no avail, not even one slot is available.

I originally wanted to do a general checkup and scaling.

And I recently tried waiting till 12am hoping that the system would refresh and an available slot would appear but nothing not even one slot.

Also now, I find my gums swollen, and I suspect it's an impacted wisdom tooth.

And before anyone suggests a private dental clinic, no, I don't have the finances to do so.

Therefore, I really do need advices on how to get an appointment or, can I just walk in.

Updates:

1.)I walked into the Batu Kawa dental clinic yesterday, and they had a small piece of paper to fill in.

2.) The counter had an appointment and walk-in section.

3.)They only accept card/paywave only.

4.)It was a pleasant experience.

5.)The dentist will set up the next appointment for follow-up if necessary

Help! Fresh graduate job hunting

Help! Fresh Graduate Job Hunting 🥲

Hi everyone! I'm a fresh graduate and have been job hunting for public relations, corporate communications, and government relations roles.

Initially, I spent a few months applying for HR positions and attended several interviews and career fairs. However, after going through the interview process, I realised that HR isn't the career path I want to pursue.

I'm confident in my public speaking, presentation, analytical thinking, and strategic thinking skills. During a career fair, one of the hiring managers suggested that I would be a good fit for media companies, which made me reconsider the direction of my job search.

If anyone knows of any companies that are hiring, graduate programmes, or vacancies in PR, corporate communications, government relations, or related fields, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

For those who are familiar with personality frameworks, I'm an ENFJ-A (MBTI) and Enneagram 3w2, and I enjoy roles involving communication, stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and strategic planning.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

Job hunting 🥲

Job hunting 🥲 (Fresh Graduate : PR/Corporate Communications/Government Relations)

Hi everyone! I'm a fresh graduate currently looking for roles in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, or Government Relations in Malaysia.

Initially, I spent a few months applying for HR positions and attended several interviews and career fairs. However, after going through the interview process and learning more about the role, I realised HR isn't the career path I see myself in.

From my experiences and feedback from hiring managers, I believe my strengths are in public speaking, presentation, strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills. One hiring manager I met at a career fair even suggested that I'd be a good fit for media-related companies.

I'm currently open to opportunities in Kuala Lumpur especially with MNCs, GLCs, agencies, media companies, or organisations with strong corporate affairs or communications teams.

If you know of any companies currently hiring, graduate programmes worth checking out, or have any advice on where to look, I'd really appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you in advance! 🙏

Fresh graduate struggles

Fresh Graduate Struggles

Hi everyone. I'm a graduate from the UM who recently returned to Kuching and have been looking for opportunities in PR, Corporate Communications, and related communication roles.

To be honest, I'm disappointed by the current job market in Kuching. Many entry-level positions for degree holders are offering salaries of only RM2,000+, and I struggle to understand how this has become the norm.

During my time in KL, I earned around the same amount working part-time at a café. It makes it difficult to accept a similar salary for a full-time graduate position that requires a bachelor's degree and professional responsibilities.

I've attended several career fairs, and many employers mentioned budgets of below RM3,000 for fresh graduates. At the same time, while working in KL, I met many full-time café employees, both Malaysians and foreigners with SPM, STPM, or pre-university qualifications who were earning around RM2,200+ per month.

The contrast is striking. In Kuching, some degree-level positions are offering RM1,700 to RM2,300, which raises serious concerns about how graduate talent is being valued.

If salaries and career progression remain stagnant, I genuinely worry that Sarawak will continue to experience brain drain. Although initiatives such as education assistance are commendable, retaining graduates also requires competitive wages, meaningful career opportunities, and a hiring culture based on merit rather than connections.

I sincerely hope things improve because I would love to build my career in Sarawak but at the moment, it's becoming increasingly difficult to justify staying.

Job hunting for PR,HR, Communication, Project management roles ;Fresh graduate

Hi I'm a fresh graduate in IR (International Relations and Strategic Studies)studies and just came back Kuching not long ago. Been job hunting for over a month.

I wish to work in-house like SEB, or any state owned companies or MNCs. Interned in KL in a HR services agency and realised that I'm more suitable for in-house ( consultant from my internship company suggested me to try in-house roles) as I am a team player and able to work independently.

An extrovert here. I really want to work in communication related jobs. Also, I LOVE Sarawak, I really wished I can work and contribute to my state. If there's any suitable vacancies please share.
