I am trying my luck finding an online job and I come across something that seems legit. I got directed to this registration line and this is the info I got.
Really unsure about this, feeling ambivalent about going through. I been checking around the company called seekda which is apparently a real company. But it said I need to pay money to get back money. Please can I have some opinions? Thank you.
I don’t know what I am doing wrong (I suspect my projects are lame). Any constructive criticism is welcomed!
I graduated with a computer engineering degree with a cgpa of 3.03 in 2025 and ive been struggling to get a job or any interview for that matters. Will a masters degree help my situation?
I work as an IT Executive in a manufacturing company, mainly providing ERP system support. Besides ERP, I also handle various internal system support tasks whenever needed.
Recently, management introduced a new KPI where every department and every employee is expected to have at least one project. If you only perform routine operational tasks, it is considered that you're not contributing enough in terms of improvement. Ideally, the project should help the company save costs or improve efficiency, preferably without requiring additional company spending.
My manager has now asked me to come up with a project idea on my own. Under my previous manager, he would usually identify improvement opportunities and assign suitable projects to the team. However, my current manager has a different approach. He comes from a programming and software development background and has limited experience working in a manufacturing environment, so he's expecting us to propose our own initiatives.
To make things more challenging, management keeps talking about AI and automation. Almost every discussion ends with, "Can this be automated?" or "Can we use AI?" But at the same time, there is little to no budget allocated for new tools, software, or implementation. So the expectation is to deliver AI or automation solutions without additional investment.
For those who have experience working in manufacturing, especially in IT or ERP support roles, I'd really appreciate any ideas or examples of projects that have made a positive impact in your company. I'm looking for practical projects that can improve efficiency or reduce costs without requiring a large budget. At the moment, I'm completely stuck and would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, updating from my post 3 months ago https://www.reddit.com/r/JobsMY/s/Ifflgky64h
To recap: I'm a final-year HR student (currently interning in Industrial Relations) trying to decide whether to jump straight into a Masters full-time while working or focus on work first.
So I’ve just been offered a Management Trainee (MT) position at my current interning company while at the same time, I got details back from UPM regarding their Masters programme. My current dilemma is that I have two pathways at the moment:
1) Stay in IR (Contract) + Full-time Master's (UPM)
I'll stay on a 1-year contract strictly in IR while doing a 1-year full-time Master's (weekdays 630 - 930 PM).
Pros: Get the Master's degree and 2 professional certs out of the way early.
Cons: Low pay for now (around RM2.7k - RM2.9k). The schedule would be something like, going to work at 620 AM, finishing at 5 PM, rushing 1 hour to UPM every day. Limited exposure outside of IR, might fall into "overqualified but less experienced" trap when trying to jump later.
2) Accept the Management Trainee offer
So put the Master's on hold for 1 year, dive headfirst into the MT program, and then revisit the Master's later.
Pros: Higher starting pay (RM3k+). Direct exposure to all HR functions in rotation, fast-track to management and chances of future job roles as company is going IPO.
Cons: No academic progression for the first year which was a personal goal, possible friction with manager as they do not want to lose me from their team.
My brain is leaning heavily toward the Management Trainee track which is a once in a life time opportunity, and I can always do my Masters a year or two down the road. But.... not pursuing Masters makes me feel uneasy.
Do you think MT is the right decision?
I am 22 y/o currently working at MNC Company deployed at Banking environtment as IT Helpdesk, has been working for 1 year and I am looking to job hop to increase my knowledge and experience. The thing is, I only have diploma and no extra certs to back it up (but I am planning to)
what's the expected increment should I give to my next employer? In my current job I even sometimes cover my L2 Jobs but I dont want to be too greedy. Any tips and guidance?
Extra: I am looking for SOC/NOC job specifically. If I cant land those I can take IT Infra as a stepping stone to set me up for SOC/NOC.
Hi everyone. I'm a 24-year-old fresh graduate and I'm currently in a dilemma.
I've been working at my current company for about two months. The salary is around RM4k before tax, and recently another company approached me with a similar offer. I'm trying to decide whether it's worth making the jump this early in my career.
Current Company (Japanese Company)
- Located in Nilai
- Rent + utilities: ~RM400/month
- Commute: 15 minutes
- Work culture: Fairly structured, but not overly strict. I'd rate it around 7/10.
- Overtime: None
- Potential opportunity to undergo 2 years of training in Japan, which would mean earning a Japanese salary during that period.
My role is as a DX Engineer, where I mainly develop AI agents for internal use. I've also had some exposure to RFID systems and AMRs, but most of my work revolves around AI-related technologies.
One concern I have is that I'm essentially pioneering this function in the company. There isn't much guidance or mentorship, so most of what I do involves researching and figuring things out on my own.
New Opportunity (Taiwan-Partnered Company)
- Located in Melaka
- Rent + utilities: RM0 (I'd be living with my family)
- Commute: 30–40 minutes
- Work culture: Not sure yet. It's still a relatively small company but has partnered with a major Taiwanese technology company.
- Likely requires frequent travel within Malaysia and occasional overseas travel.
- Initial training would be around 3 months in Taiwan.
This role interests me because it focuses on smart factories, factory automation, AMRs/AGVs, and semiconductor-related technologies. It feels more aligned with the kind of industrial automation work I eventually want to pursue.
A bit about me
I graduated from a Japanese university and have JLPT N2 proficiency, so working with Japanese companies isn't an issue for me.
My dilemma
Both companies offer roughly the same salary, so the decision isn't really about money.
On one hand, my current company offers the possibility of long-term training in Japan.
On the other hand, the new company seems like it would expose me to factory automation, semiconductors, and field engineering areas that I'm genuinely interested in and that seem to have strong long-term growth potential.
If you were in my position, which opportunity would you choose, and why?
If there's any additional information that would help, feel free to ask and I'll provide it.
TLDR: Recruiter/HR asked the interviewee to host Zoom meeting for the interview.
I applied to a position and the company HR reached out to me via phone call. She wanted to schedule a physical interview with me but since I am residing in another state, I inquiried if the interview could be conducted online.
The HR said she needs to ask the HOD if they can conduct a virtual interview, which is odd to me. Shouldn't you already know if company policy allows virtual interview? She also asked me to fill up the job application form which will be sent to me. I asked for it to be sent via email but she said it will be through WhatsApp. I think an email would be a more appropriate and professional channel for job related stuff.
But whatever, I just filled up the application form, sent back to her and wait for her answer.
She got back to me, after a whole 24 hours. She offered 2 timeslots and I picked 1. Then she asked me to create the Zoom meeting and share the link to her via WhatsApp. I am fairly new to the job scene but I have attended few dozens of job interviews. Never have I ever heard that an interviewee had to be the interview "host".
Are these normal or red flags? Although not MNC, the company is fairly large local conglomerate. Is this a kind of IT literacy test since the position is IT related? What could it even prove by creating a Zoom meeting? Seeking advice if I should proceed with this job application/interview 🙏
Hi all, I'm facing a major career dilemma and would love some advice from fellow sifus.
My current role:
The new offer:
Dilemma:
Honestly this new offer is not super exciting especially knowing that I will need to spend more time, energy and money for it for that little extra money in my pocket, it's most likely a net zero move in terms of monthly salary. Also during the interview I get the vibe that it's a really fast paced job so I'm also kinda worry I can't cope well. But at the same time, I think having fintech in my resume can open doors to companies like Web3 or even banking in future?
If you work in the fintech company I would love to hear your experience there as well.
I will finish my internship soon
So im thinking apply for job obv
But the thing is im not satisfy with my internship, during this time i never really doing task/job that related with my major (finance) and i got frustrated to think that i dont really know what finance job actually was
So im here seeking advice, should i just apply the full time job or apply for PROTÉGÉ first?
Or maybe i just apply for full time job jak?? Like if im lucky maybe they give some training or whatever?
Anyone here working/used to work at HSBC TRX office? Mind sharing your experience esp if you’ve worked in the global team? I have a final interview coming up so just wondering about the work cultures, benefits etc

Hi guys, appreciate if anyone could offer some advice for my future career
Background:
~1.5y audit
~4y corporate finance (2+ securities firm, 0.5 investment bank, 1 commercial)
Im looking to explore other careers but not sure what i could pivot into. Main reason im leaving CF is to look for somewhere with a better culture and work life balance. My best guess is to enter MNCs as i heard there's a higher chance for a better environment.
The options i could think of are FP&A, Risk & compliance. Open to discuss more in DMs if anyone would like to speak privately.
Thanks in advance.
Hi All,
Im in need of some career advice.
I have been a "data analyst" for about 5 years now. Even though on paper im an analyst , my job has very little analytical aspect.
I have never touched any PowerBI , SQL , Python (Pandas).I felt like im more to a Business Analyst with analytical expertise.
Im trying to job hunt into data analytics but I feel like due to my lack in technical knowledge and different domain knowledge im at a disadvantage.
I got very little interviews but even when I do ,due to my '5 years' in experience, recruiters has high expectations on me which i didn't fit.
I need some advice on how to enter data analytics for someone who has been "years in the field" but lack the technical knowledge & different domain knowledge.
Thanks for taking the time and appreciate your guidance.
For context :
I understand client's requirement and provide solution/configure their system accordingly.
Focusing on anomalies in data. There isnt much need for data analytic as is more to configurating.
Hey guys, just wanted to get some perspective from people who've gone through the Malaysian job market recently.
I recently graduated with a Bachelor of IT (Software Systems Development) from TARUMT with a CGPA of 3.78. Did a 6 month internship as a Network Support Engineer at an IT services company in Penang.
Currently have 4 interviews done:
Targeting RM3,500–4,500 salary range, based in Penang.
A few questions:
Available from mid-July. Starting to feel the anxiety lol, any input appreciated.
What should i prepare or any tips for a group interview since this is my first one. For context i get an iv invitation for a water utility company in penang for executive/engineer position. They mention it will have 2 stage, individual and group. I really hope to secure this position, but i have low iv skills (in 2026 already 3 iv, without any offer). I'll say my current(2y) company only take me because of kesian only.
Hi guys, I am gonna start applying for internships soon, I just wanted to ask if there are any rules for hair. My hair is naturally fine and curly, so I can't comb it. Does it leave any bad impressions on the interviewer?.
I went to the Talentbank Job Fair at MIDEC this past weekend from June 27-28 and collected CV/Resume drop-off links for banks and financial-related institutions/companies
Note: I only collected the links of employers in my field and I apologise for not providing links for other fields (IT, Engineering, Oil & Gas etc.)
The links seem to still be working so I would make use of them ASAP before they expire.
Bank Negara Malaysia - Linktree
Great Eastern - drop-off in linktree
Kenanga - drop-off CV/resume through LinkedIn messaging
RHB - drop-off CV/resume through LinkedIn messaging
Ambank - use link in the slides
AIA - drop-off in linktree
Setel - Financial Services; drop-off in linktree
Good luck!
