Anyone got a Maybank Internship? Need advice

I’ve been trying to get an internship at Maybank - applied across June/Jul/Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov intakes for this year. And every time on the Maybank job portal, I would see no updates except for when that intake actually closes

I really want to join Maybank, for a voluntary internship. Can anyone share some tips?

Things I have done:
- reached out on LinkedIn to existing Maybank staff and 1 said they will forward to Group HR. Passed my CV, but no response
- spoke to many recruiters at career fairs, they have all said they receive thousands of applications every intake and to wait and see
- 1 recruiter helped to forward my CV but she forwarded to Etiqa’s recruiter who contacted me for a Protege program which I’m sadly not interested in.

I have academic, leadership, competition and past internship experiences

Building friendships as an adult

I was always into studies, competitions, side hustles, family all throughout my life. Have spent most of my life and time alone. I’ve felt lonely many times so to fill the void or to avoid feeling it, I would stack my schedule with so many things so that I wouldn’t have time to think/feel it.

At a small age, due to my family situation, I used to think that the only way to change things around was to pour every bit of time into building a better future. But around 18yo, started realising that I didn’t have a memory of childhood or teenage or people that I can call real friends.

My friendships were like peak and off seasons. There were times in college where I spent quality time with friends but when life got busy and everyone had to go in their own directions, those good friendships I had faded away.

And now at 22yo, after university I feel like in the pursuit of something, I made a big mistake in my life. Having no one I can call as real friends (not the hi-bye friends or those you speak to without feeling real closeness). I regret that I never valued people as much as I valued work.

And now, it’s harder to make friends than ever. I’m also not the type that can simply strike a chat with a random stranger.

But I dont want to continue living this way and want to improve, appreciate any advice from someone who’s been through the same 🙏

:-sorry for the long rant
