I’ve been taking gabapentin 300x3 for 4-5 months. I tried 400x3 for 5-6 days and my pain got so much worse.
My doc s decided to take me off of it cuz its not helping with my nerve pain.
I’ve started tapering off 100 mg a week.

My questions is:

If increasing the dose from 900 mg to 1,200 mg is making my pain worse, could the 900 mg dose I’m currently taking also be increasing my pain?
Maybe if I reduce my total daily dose to 600 mg or even 300 mg, my pain could decrease further?
Or could reducing the dose actually make my pain worse?

Has anyone here felt that their pain improved even more after stopping gabapentin or reducing the dose?

I am using daily 900 mg gabapentin for chronic nerve pain following post-op inguinal hernia surgery. I take each 300 mg dose every 8 hours, at 08:00, 16:00, and 00:00. I have been using it for 4 months but it has had no effect. My doctor said to stop at the desired dose, but it causes many side effects for me. I once tried stopping suddenly (cold turkey) and experienced tremors and severe nausea. I don't have 100 mg tablets, so I can't reduce the dose by 100 mg. How can I reduce the dose using the 300 mg tablets according to the scheduled times?

I had a steroid nerve block on Tuesday. After the anesthetic wore off, my pain increased on Tuesday evening and has remained much worse since Wednesday morning. Has anyone experienced this? I can honestly say that my pain has increased tremendously.
Is it just a steroid flare up? I know it’s been only 24 hours but im hopeless. Hope it settles
