CBD & mood swings

I've been taking CBD oil every day for over a decade. Just with my vitamins in the morning. A couple of years ago I started having bad mood swings. Just cranky as heck. That's not like me so I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what was doing it. I stopped all supplements (which stopped the mood swings!) and began reintroducing them slowly.

I'm now almost certain it was the CBD. After I reintroduced it the problem returned.

So I'm here to ask if this is a known problem for some people. I like CBD for the aches & pains of aging so I'd like to take it if I can.

Unique situation, year ago I got hit by a car leading to bunch of issues was not allowed to use weed. Well like 12 months later my head hurts whenever I use cbd oil now (from lazarus), what would you take to relax? I find it really hard to relax or feel like im on vacation from my life.

I use to take cbd before being hit by a car for relaxation and it really worked

Now it can make my head hurt at low dose for like 6+ hours.

I've tried chamomile, but is not the same and makes me sleepy.

Swollen glands from cbd oil made with MCT

This is the first week I've used CBD and honestly it's been life changing.

I suffer from anxiety, I literally have zero chill. Now I have some chill, amazing stuff.

So,I got the 1000mg oil, the gummies and the capsules and have been taking about 120-180mg per day using all of these.

Been using the oil sublingually and noticed today two small lumps right under my chin, had a Google and these are the glands which drain from the bottom of your mouth, where I have been holing the oil for five minutes before swallowing.

Anybody had a reaction like this before? I assume it's from the MCT oil? Am I allergic? Do I need to stick to the gummies etc?

Also got some vape cbd and it's really harsh on my lungs, like gives me lung pain and a cough. Is this normal? Do I just persevere or am I allergic to this too?

I am a nice salt vaper BTW.

Thanks!

California bans shipping of full spectrum CBD into the state

Who would have guessed that California, of all places, would have some of the strictest CBD laws in the country? 😵‍💫

Starting July 1st, it will be illegal to ship full spectrum CBD to California. These products will only be legally sold to purchase in cannabis dispensaries… if they stock them.

All cannabis products sold in California dispensaries must be grown and manufactured within the state. I would bet that there will be a shortage of full spectrum CBD products until the market adjusts.

For more info, check out US Hemp Roundtable - they usually have the best up-to-date info about state and federal hemp legalization.

Switching way of consumption

Hello everyone,

I've been using CBD daily for the last 3 months now consuming flowers with a dry herb vaporizer. The last few weeks I realized that it wasn't as effective as it was when I started consuming CBD. I decided to buy gummies and full spectrum oil to give them a try. Right from the beginning, CBD effects were "back to normal" after using them. I only use CBD in the evenings to help me to have better sleeps during nights.

I was wondering if some of you experienced the same thing as I did and if you were often switching the way you consume CBD to get the most out of it ?

Thanks for your messages.

Pain relief for non verbal daughter

I have a 22 year old daughter with disabilities who is not able to communicate what is bothering her. Ibuprofen is not helping at all. I took her to the ER and after several tests the only thing that showed up are chronic pars fractures on L4 and L5. They told me that wouldn't be causing her pain? I respectfully disagree. She is overweight and seems uncomfortable all the time. She winces when lifting up her leg or from transitioning from stand to sit and sit to stand positions.

I have CBD tincture from Lazarus Naturals that I have never used.

Has anyone had this help with pain? I'm new to CBD so I am not sure of what side effects to look out for. I read it can cause nausea so unless she throws up I won't really know if she's feeling bad from it. Any advice? Or any other natural pain relievers I should look into? Thank you.

Good recs for anxiety / sleep issues?

Hey I'm wondering if there's any good reliable brands that are strong enough to help deal with my anxiety and sleeping issues. Lately my sleeping pattern has been getting worst with school and work and I'm wondering if there's a natural alternative (CBD) that can help with both of my issues. I want a reliable and safe brand I can purchase from. I'm especially looking for gummies/drops that I can take.

CBD isolate making me feel emotionally numb and unmotivated - has anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I've only been taking CBD isolate for 2 days (around 20–30mg per day), and I'm trying to work out whether what I'm feeling is normal, whether it settles with time, or whether CBD isolate just isn't for me. For context, I've struggled with anxiety and moderate depression for a long time. Before taking CBD, I was definitely anxious, but I still had moments where I could sit in the sun, relax, and get that genuine "ahhh" feeling where life felt good for a moment.

Since starting the CBD, my anxiety does seem lower, but I also feel emotionally muted. The best way I can describe it is like there's a blanket over everything. I feel less motivated, less interested in things, and less able to enjoy simple moments. I don't feel sad exactly, just kind of numb and "meh". Part of me wonders whether the CBD is causing this, or whether it has simply reduced my anxiety and exposed how I was already feeling underneath. Another part of me feels like I've lost some of the spark that makes me feel like myself, even if it wasn't perfect..

One thing worth mentioning is that the isolate I'm currently using was given to me by a friend and is about 2 years past its expiry date. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and will likely be getting a fresh broad-spectrum CBD product, so I'm wondering whether that might feel different as well.

Has anyone else experienced emotional numbness or feeling "flat" on CBD isolate? Reduced motivation or enjoyment of things? Feeling like anxiety went down but so did your enthusiasm for life?

Did it improve after a week or two, or did it stay that way?

I'd be interested to hear from people who are sensitive to CBD, especially if you switched from isolate to broad-spectrum and noticed a difference.

Edit* I don't take THC as it makes me anxious in any quantity.

How do you personally know that you need to up your CBD dose?

I'm using CBD oil broad spectrum to treat my anxiety. I am on 15mg twice a day, and it feels so strange. Relaxed and warm, but I also feel somewhat distant from my usual self. Is this a case of needing more to break through what could be a little anxiety?

Older adults are asking better questions about cannabis edibles and a new JAMA study shows why education matters.

I thought this was an interesting study to sit with, especially for anyone involved in cannabis education, healthcare, caregiving or retail.

A new JAMA Network Open study looked at adults age 60+ and explored why they were interested in edible cannabis products containing THC, CBD or a combination of both.

What stood out to me was not recklessness. It was thoughtfulness.

Many older adults were interested in edibles because they were looking for better sleep, more comfort, fewer medication-related concerns, or more options after feeling like they had already tried a lot of other things.

The important part is that edibles can be confusing, especially for older adults.

A few practical points I think deserve more attention:

1.      THC and CBD are not the same.

2.      Edibles can take longer to feel and may last longer than expected.

3.      THC may cause impairment, which matters more when fall risk, driving, cognition, or medications are involved.

4.      CBD is non-intoxicating, but that does not mean it is “nothing” or automatically simple.

Combination products can be appealing, but ratios and dosing can be hard to understand without guidance.

My takeaway: older adults do not need more judgment around cannabis. They need better education, clearer product information, and safer conversations with clinicians, caregivers and knowledgeable professionals.

Question: Curious what others are seeing: are older adults in your community asking more questions about edibles, THC/CBD ratios, sleep, pain or product safety?

Disclaimer: Educational discussion only. Not medical advice. Cannabis may cause impairment and may interact with medications. Older adults should consult a licensed clinician before use, especially with medications, fall risk, cognitive concerns or other health considerations.

Is isolate/distillate easy to consume and to get for household amounts?

It seems like a cost-effient way for higher doses.

  1. Is it easy to consume just orally, or is it bad to use without diluting?
  2. Do they generally sell it in walk-in stores? (Nordics/EU)
