Garmin Fenix 9/9 Pro bought in US, usage in India. Any issues to be aware of?

Hey guys,

I have posted a similar question before, but ended up getting more confused than I started with hence keeping this one a little more focused.

I am planning on getting the Garmin Fenix 9 Pro 43mm (without In-reach) from the US to India through a friend. I have some concerns:

  1. How difficult is it to get the warranty claim through Amit LLP (I called them and asked them about this, they said unless the watch needs to be replaced, they’ll fix it for free in case of any issues. If the watch needs to be replaced I’ll have to pay around INR 25k(this price is for Fenix 8 as they don’t have Fenix 9 yet)). How legit is their claim? Anyone have any previous experiences with them?

  2. How reliable are Garmin watches in general? I have mostly used Apple products previously, but want to get the Garmin this time as I am getting more serious about endurance sports. Do Garmin watches break easily? What has your experience been like?

  3. For the US version of the watch, will there be any missing features if/when I use it in India?

  4. Do maps work properly in India? I heard someone saying on Reddit that US watches come preloaded with US maps and if I want India maps, I have to pay for it. Is this true? If yes, how much is the price & is it a subscription or a flat fee?

  5. Are there are any other caveats I need to be aware of, please let me know.

Would really appreciate your inputs. This is the first time I am getting a Garmin and just want to do my due diligence before I go ahead with the purchase.

Whoop vs Apple Watch vs Garmin Cirqa vs Other fitness trackers. Purchase dilemma

Hey guys. I’m into weight training since past 8 years (on and off) and have recently picked up running as well. I was looking to buy a fitness tracker but it seems everything in the market right now either doesn’t serve all my requirements or has some other problem. Here are my requirements:

  1. Preferably screen-less (but not in a ring form factor). The smaller and lighter, the better.

  2. Should be able to do a decent job at tracking my workouts (doesn’t have to be each rep and set, but should be able to measure my overall performance)

  3. Should be good at tracking runs (pace, time, distance, HR zones, etc). I don’t need live tracking.

  4. Should be able to track my sleep very well.

I was first looking at Whoop, but it seems it’s not great for weight training and runs. Apple Watch lacks the discreet (and screen-less) form factor and durability is a concern while doing weight training and it’s not as accurate for calories as something like a Whoop. Garmin Cirqa seems to be at its nascent stages while being inaccurate for runs and not great for workouts.

Please let me know if I’m wrong in any of my observations and let me know what would be the best device for my use case.

How is my color grade? (I'm an absolute beginner)

Here's how the CST was set:

  1. Converted Sony S-Gamut3.Cine (in Slog3) to DaVinci Wide Gamut (DaVinci Intermediate)

  2. Output was to set to Cullen Kelly's Referent DWG to 709

Then, I graded the footage with basic adjustments and some stylized choices.

I'm attaching the photos in the following order:

  1. Input Space Transform

  2. Output Space Transform

  3. Grading (with node tree)

  4. Final Ouput

Please let me know what can I imrpove and how. Thanks!
