Treat your hospitality workers with respect. The world doesn’t revolve around you just bc ur on vacation.

As many of us know, the majority of jobs here available in MB are tourism/hospitality related.. so I cannot imagine how stressful the last few days have been for all of us combined.

Some of the people that vacation in this town are some of the nastiest, trashiest, selfish ppl I have ever seen. If you are kind to others (treating those who serve you & assist you during your stay here with respect and decency like a human being) then this doesn’t apply to you. Thank you for being a good person.

It is disgusting and degrading the way some of these tourists treat us. Verbal insults, physical threats of violence, and for what? For us to just take it and smile and continue to help you? For many of the young people here they go to school to get hospitality and tourism degrees with the dream of helping others in this career field. For some others this is the only job they can get. Regardless of what reason whether good or bad it doesn’t mean ppl should be degraded or feel endangered where they work!

Working in the hospitality industry in other states, I have never witnessed the truly delusional behavior tourists have in other places that I witness daily here. It is embarrassing to observe grown adults (and even their insufferable, entitled teenagers) disregard treating others with basic respect because someone works in customer service.

We are here to help you have fabulous vacations. We want you to be happy and continue to come back for family friendly fun or whatever. But it is hard to do when we are constantly being berated. So remember the next time you are mad, do not take it out on a hospitality worker or take it personally if that person doesn’t smile big enough for you. you have no idea what abuse that worker dealt with before having to assist you.

Remember, yall. If someone threatens to physically harm you call the police! Do not let these people intimidate you!

Anyone with sales background transition into FA?

Exactly what the title is. I’m looking to transition from working front desk at a resort into a sales position but I’m worried how it will look on my resume, I understand there are still transferable skills but I’m wondering if anyone else has been able to get a CJO with this experience.

Your job doesn’t define you

Hi all, this post is a positive one mainly directed towards other ex-FAs who are still trying to get back to their dream or people struggling with rejections in general.

Please remember that your job doesn’t define you.. as we are in the middle of this years interview season, whether we are flying or on the ground, remember that you have worth! keep trying and keep believing, eventually a CJO will land. Do not be so hard on yourself. Stay positive and let the stress and worry go. I know with certainty that one day all of us will be in the air again! Until then fill your life with productivity and happiness. Do not view becoming a flight attendant your life starting ‘again’. Your life is happening right now! So enjoy it for all it’s worth.
The last time I went to an Alaska interview my recruiter told us all it took her seven years of trying before she finally got a CJO. Years ago at my first airline, it was my second job I ever had and got my CJO on the first try. It is wholly different for every person. All of us are on different paths, so don’t compare yourself to others. When it’s your time, it will come.

Blacklisted from PSA?

2 yrs ago I had the opportunity to F2F with PSA but the day before I was meant to fly out I had to withdraw my application.. in the email, they replied and said it was fine and just told me to reapply in 6 months but since then, every time I’ve applied to them I don’t even get a video interview. Does that mean I’ve been blacklisted?

How to approach why I was fired from previous airline in interview?

Hi all, I was fired for attendance/callouts at my last airline 4 years ago and since then have been applying to (almost) every single airline since then with no CJO. This year I am thinking of just approaching the “why did you leave (previous airline)?” With just outright explaining that I was terminated for attendance, because nothing else has worked. Any ideas?
