Its time for me to go back home after I [25 M] have spent like 10 days with my [24 F] girlfriend for the first time and idk how you all do this saying not goodbye but until next time without knowing when that will be. I know i have to go back home to work and all that but man i wanna run back out of this airport to join her again.

It finally happened
After 2 years of talking and almost 2 years of being together we finally got to meet. Sometimes i thought we never would get this far because we had to cancel but neither of us gave up and it was worth every single 12 hour call we had

I don't know if i missed something or if this is a plot hole. We know 8's goal was to transport the dead filament to earth to show them the dr's pain as she said, we also know this became her goal because the doctor died and couldn't do it himself so she made a copy of his feelings to carry with her. But what i don't understand is HOW the base itself got so ruined, the dr died due to contact with dead filament he was laying in but how did it get there? the filament went rouge because 8 influenced it but why would she do that before he died?
