Altra Olympus blister help

i have some olympus shoes i use for hiking. i love the toe box and the grippy sole, but on two backpacking trips the shoes have left my heel to shreds. blisters the size of marshmallows, skin frictioned off so deep it was visible. but i have 0 issues when i use them on day trips/hikes.

i always dry out my feet, i aim to keep them dry and avoid moisture buildup, so what’s up? is it just not the shoe for me or it there some troubleshooting i can do to make these work?

goodbye, sweet Bird 💛🌈

Everyone show some love to my sweet 17 y. 4mo. old angel who had to cross the bridge on Sunday.

After a 5 year dance with hyperthyroidism, a heart murmur and some kidney issues, Birdy is finally set free of pain and worries. We are thankful that she only had discomfort in her last couple of days. Our girl was a pro snacker, pro lounger, and full time lover girl. She was always so sweet with people and her kitty siblings, never an angry swat or a misplaced angry pee when we kept bringing siblings home for her.

The bedroom isn’t the same without her, her “watering hole” (where her bowl is and she frequently lounged) seems so so empty and it’s sad not topping up her dish 2x a day. dear bird, i’ll think of you in every chicken nugget, every light pink anything i see, and every fluffy white blanket

I know we made the right decision as she didn’t have treatment options and I take comfort in knowing she didn’t have to suffer long but it is still incredibly heart breaking to not have her sweet presence around.

Your moms miss you more than we can put into words my sweet girl. we’ll see you on the other side 💛🌈

Birdy crossed the bridge two days ago. Everyone say hi and tell her she’s the most beautiful lady

my sweet lady was 17 (+ 4 months!). i adopted her when she was 8 and she has been nothing but pure sweetness the whole time. she loved everyone, was good with other animals, enjoyed the cottage, and loved to eat.

Bird had a hyperthyroid for 5 years, and with that a heart murmur developed. on the 19th she was showing signs of laboured breathing and her gums were pale. we rushed her to emerg where she was fitted with an oxygen mask straight away. the vet told us that she had a buildup of fluids around her heart and it was stopping her lungs from being able to extend. we had limited options; we could pull out the liquid and test it, or go through euthanasia.

the risk of pulling the liquid was that she might not make it through the procedure since she would need anesthesia and her heart was only working at 50%. she also would likely not make it while the fluid was tested and likely whatever she had (heart failure or cancer) would be untreatable.

instead of having her possibly passing during a procedure surrounded by strangers, we chose to spend time with her and say goodbye. after a teary 3 hours we said our goodbyes, and stayed with her body for another couple of hours.

the following day, we picked up her body and brought her to where she will have aquamation and they will give us mementos ( paw and nose prints etc).

i cherish the time we had together both before and after her passing.

she’s my soul cat and life isn’t going to be the same without her.

we miss you birdy 💛see you on the other side 🌈

ugc inbound scam?

i’ve gotten a couple inbound offers but as a newbie i’m pretty reluctant to accept anything as i’m super nervous about being scammed. i’ve copied the email below, tell me what you think.

off first glance i think it’s fake but clarity and the signs it’s fake/real would be good so i can start to learn what i should be looking for.

thanks!

is this too good to be true?

edit: the email address they used is just a gmail address so i think it’s a scam 🐟🐟. also venice grey is a colour of denim levi’s has 🤦

i’ve had someone under the name Venice Grey reach out via email about collaborating with levi’s Signature jeans. one month ad collaboration for $400 per week.

i’m just just starting out. i only finished my portfolio today and while i do have a ugc tiktok i only have a few videos on there, none clothing related.

it seems unlikely such a big brand would reach out to how to a vet this is legitimate or not?

i would love to do the collab if it’s real but i also don’t want to be burned in the process 😬
